If Garret doesn't get a HC job and remains with the Cowboys and is promoted to head coacn next year, will it be possible that he hires Capers as DC? I thought that I read somewhere (possible here) that they were close from the Miami days. Would he be a good DC for us? I know that he has some good defensives before and I think he is DB's coach for the Pats. I was just wondering what everyone else thought and would he even be good for this type of ball club. I know that he runs the 3-4 and was head coach of the Panthers before Fox I think.

it's Dom i believe and the patriots don't have to let us get him if he is still under contract....remember....only a head coaching position is considered a promotion...all positional coaches/coordinators are looked as the same level.

Garrett is on probation. The offense has failed us the last two years. Why do people still want him as HC. He's unproven and hasn't done a thing yet. No skins. So he's smart. Lots of people are smart. He doesn't appear to be wise.

Did you guys miss the part where we wanted Capers this offseason but Stewart was too insecure.

Adding Capers would have made Stewart the 3rd string DC behind Wade & Capers.

I don't think his job title is DC with the patriots...might be assistant head coach but I was thinking I read somewhere that he was a position coach there...could be wrong.

Actually, Dom capers was the original head coach for Jacksonville.

Jason Garrett just might be a better head coach than cordinator. Mike Singletary skipped the cordinating ranks and went from position coach to head coach.

No, I'm pretty sure Capers was in Carolina.

Coughlin was in Jacksonville though.

yes, but everyone knew Singletary was less strong on the Xs and Os part of the game - mostly since he'd been away from it so long -- but great as a motivator. JG is supposed to some sort of offensive genius.

Jason and DOM would be a huge upgrade over Wade and Jason. He has a quite, no nosense approach that we need. If you want discpline and accountability then JG is our best shot.

His title is "Special Assistant / Secondary Coach".
