Garrett article on ESPN

Garrett would have been fired years ago at any other team considering how many games he has botched.....................and this idiot has the balls to play the victim card.................thats laughable.

Yea I don't buy the whole "victim" card here. Garrett was Jerry's little pony from the get-go, and he knew what he was getting himself into. Regardless of the lack of control or what not, Garrett has continually made some really horrible decisions on Sundays; decisions that NFL caliber coaches should never make. He's been a poor coach here, no matter how you slice.

Sounds like Ashley doesn't understand how both headset communication and play adjustments in the NFL actually work.

This upcoming Commanders game will be very telling on what the players think of their coach. If they go "all-out intensity" or if they just "jog around the field". This will be interesting to watch - In regards to both the team aspect as well as the individuals themselves.

I will say this about the Commanders game, there will be LOTS of running the ball.

This might be the "overcompensate game"........................Garrett usually does this when he knows he botches a game and the media and fans are on him, so the next game he goes in the complete opposite direction but overdoes it.

He will probably call nothing but run plays even though the Skins have a terrible secondary.

Exactly.

very true!

Afterward, Garrett uncharacteristically said Romo should have never thrown the ball to Austin. He said under no circumstance in that situation should Romo have checked out of the run play, even though the play had a tag that allowed Romo to change to a pass depending on the defensive alignment.

Now maybe I missed it but I don't remember Garrett saying that.

I'm so excited about the possibility of another puppet HC who has no control over his coaching staff, team decisions, players, etc.

It's worked so well over the past 18 years.

That's what I expect.

Again.

This article was probably written by a Garrett groupie

Reality is that Garrett has quite possibly been the worst coach in cowboys history if you factor in a top 10 QB and a hof pass rusher

I can see this happening - even though the weather, wind and the porous Commanders secondary should call for a balanced attack. If we run a ton, it will be interesting to see how our O-line and Murray play against a very formidable front 7. But I am, once again, HOPING for balance and to stick with what is working along with solid game management. If we do get ahead, I THINK that we learned from last week and use the clock well.

The Commanders will mix it up. It would be nice if Alfred Morris is fumble prone like he was last week. As far as the Commanders in regards to passing - Cousins takes too many chances and has a slower time-to-attempt than the QB's we have faced recently. I think we will have opportunities for INT's and I think our front will get to him quite a few times. He does throw an accurate deep ball so our secondary better be ready.

For some reason I feel some confidence with Holloman playing at MIKE. He seems to study the opponent and sheds blocks well.

If our D can force a punt. I like Spurlock over our PR and KR of the last few weeks. He may be a pleasant surprise.

To stay on topic. We absolutely NEED solid coaching in this game. That is my greatest hope for the week.

This is entirely accurate - I agree in full. There better not be any overcompensating in this game.

You know it, and so does Washington.
