Hiring Garrett as next HC sounds good to me. This team plays totally different under Garrett then they did under Wade. The biggest reason I wanted Wade fired was the consistent lack of effort displayed, particularly on defense, by this team once Romo went down. The effort was pathetic & an insult to every Cowboy fan. Under Garrett this team played like an NFL and even managed to win 4 games. Would have liked to see us win 5 games under Garrett by beating the Cards, but the problems we have on this team were very apparent.
I didn't expect miracles out of Garrett nor many wins. No coach could improve the OL nor our second & DL. Hopefully that gets taken care in the offseason by FA & the draft. But with Jerry in charge, it will probably takes us longer then it did the Eagles to regroup.
I would hope that Garrett has significant input in upcoming draft & signing FAs, but who knows with Jerry. Garrett certainly should have total control over who he wants and who he doesn't want. Would like to see him keep Sherman & wouldn't mind our ST coach but every other position coach should be on the chopping block particularly Campo, etc. Like someone already posted, if Garrett not allowed name every coach he wants then Garrett should say no & look elsewhere. Have no doubt his performance since taking over has generated interest around the NFL; he'll have good shut at 2-3 jobs if he doesn't stay in Dallas. Do worry about Garrett standing up to Jerry unless Garrett has find he can convince Jerry to do things his way by talking softly like Landry did.
Admit I don't like to read every day more junk from Jerry about whose starting, not playing, etc. Just wish Jerry would shut up; no other GM feels the need to open his mouth every single day. The buck and problem with this team starts with Jerry who still doesn't get it or doesn't care. Why can't Jerry emulate the Pats' Kraft and not the Raiders' Davis. My biggest fear since Jerry is 68 or so is that we stuck with him for 15+ years. Jeez.
