Yes, it's only one win and Garrett has proved to be an idiot with playcalls in the red zone. I hated him for the longest time, but after seeing him act as head coach, he really seems like a cool guy. I had no idea he was a fiery guy who knew a lot about discipline. Maybe he has the makings of a great head coach like Sean Payton.

No.

All Garrett did is do what 99% of all coaches would do. More accountability. No cupcake practices. Play Felix and Dez more as well as get a new defensive coordinator.

Wade was so bad that he'd make anyone who'd replace him look like Vince Lombardi.

Why, after 1 game, if Garrett a better head coach candidate than 20 other viable replacements?

Yea, I think "perception" is the main issue here. Like you said, Wade was so freaking pathetic as a HC that the team was not even competitive anymore. All of us fans got to the point that we were expecting to get blown out every week.

The fact that we actually won a game is so shocking that it is making Garrett look like a freaking genius. That is how low the bar had been set, kinda sad really.

Now if Garrett can beat the Lions and we get our first home win of the season, fans will probably construct a statue of Garrett outside the stadium!!!:D

i have killed JG for 2 seasons, but i like whta i have seen so far.

i'm giving him a chance.

After 7 losses I would have taken Don Knots as the HC!

I still don't believe he's right for the job. His act will get old by seasons end and this group of players will start to lay down on him. Then we can bring in a coach with skins that can back up what he preaches!

I have warmed up to Garrett as a head coach the last couple of weeks. I really like some of the changes that he has made. With that being said, only the next few games will make or break Garrett. Not much to complain about now, but give it time.

That's pretty short sighted I think. He has full disciplinary control from everything I've read. Winning cures lots of things and don't forget, Garrett was coached by Jimmy Johnson so he knows what discipline and keeping the eye on the prize is all about.

Obviously the whole situation needs to be given time.

The day after the season ends we'll have a better view of everything.

However I would think the guys most likely to tune him out or as you say start to lay down, will be the guys most likely gone in the offseason.

What Garrett has done is bring a basic no-nonsense approach to the HC position. The fact that it's such a difference and welcome change just shows how lax things had gotten with Wade as HC. Time will tell if Garrett is HC material.

If Garrett is our Head Coach next year then I will take that year off from posting on this board.

Same here. I've always like Red, but openly questioned his playcalling going back to his first year solo. But I know some ppl that know him that say he's a total bad *** and we know he's smart as a whip...

Really its a matter of Jerry getting out of the way and seeing where this guy can go...I think with Garrett's history and tie to the superbowls he can actually be the coach to both stand up to and coexist with Jerry...we'll see. Hard not to pull for the guy...Family institution!

What "act"? That he's forcing guys to work harder, pay attention in meetings and demanding some accountability? Isnt this the same "act" that good coaches would choose to apply?

Not only do I feel that Garrett is part of the big picture with the Dallas Cowboy organization. I feel he is going to mold this franchise into what it should be. Dominant and forced to be respected, again.
