that he is a genius and whatever calls he makes will work. The middle and shallow areas were open all game long- and it was clear they were watching Witten pretty close. there should have been slants to TO and quick hits to the backs. Especially since they had 8 in the box a lot. Some short passes just behind the LBS would have forced them to start playing back and we could have run the ball more. But I think Garrett was so cocky that he was not willing to take the small stuff. That would have been good for Romo as well- some short passes.

Sounds like another armchair QB sweating up the sofa.

I would like to see the draw play used a bit more, particularly when your dropping back to pass 50 times.

What I'm hoping is that after last night Garrett learns a little more about the emotional make-up of his QB.

That's part of the learning curve - knowing what settles a guy down, what fires him up, when to step on the gas, when to tap the brakes. Tony was obviously rattled, locking onto receivers, not going through progressions very well there for awhile. I think that's when Garrett, or any OC, needs to make the playbook smaller, like you would with a rookie QB.

Romo's confidence was broken - and he was playing like a rookie in headlights - and needed to be built from the ground up. Let him go short a few times, get the monkey off his back, get his feet under him, find some rhythm. And then when he snaps out of it, revert to the normal offense.

Garrett has had his foot on the gas all season, and I've loved it, but last night I think he may have learned there is a good time to ease back on the throttle for a bit. Reading Romo is an important part of his job.

Maybe with Wade coming back he can be the guy that tells Garrett when to take his foot off the gas. Some short dinks and dunks in the first half would have helped settle him down and force the LBs to back off so that the running game could help out.

There was one play after TNew's interception, when Romo threw his final pick, where the ref blatantly got in the way of TO when he beat his man running a crossing route across the middle of the field. I mean, he moved right into the path of TO while looking at him. It was unbelievable. I swear, he was like the 12th man on the field for them.

Romo came out too "hyped" up.

Garrett should have had him complete a couple short passes to backs to get him into a groove.

Tell me that garrett did a good job last night.

I think Garrett called a good game, Romo didn't execute........Now if you want to fault Garrett for anything, you can fault him for not having a "Plan B".

Let's not forget that our OC has even less games at his position than Romo has.

To Buffalo's credit, I think they threw some things at us that we were not expecting. I think both Garret and Romo may have had a case of deer in the headlights. When all is said and done, neither folded and they both did a fine job in the end.

Excellent observation, for example that last interception that he threw while trying to complete the ball to Witten in the endzone. T.O. was wide open in the flat. Also on the fumble Romo had when they only needed about 4 yards for a first down, Barber was wide open in the flat.

That very first INT for 6 set the entire tempo for the game. That got the entire Bills team fired up as well as the crowd. From there on out I knew it was gonna be an uphill battle all night long.

My one complaint about Garrett and the coaches is they made poor calls to help Romo get into a groove and calm him down. I really wish we would utilize JJ and Barber out of the backfield more often. All we had to do to win that game was not make mistakes. If there was one game all season where ball control was gonna be crucial that was it. Even if we had to punt the ball their offense would have to make plays and that was rarely happening. The D only surrendered 3 points for crying out loud.

I still can't believe we won that game.

he had a bad game as did Tony but i don't think it's about having a big head or reading his clippings.

he and tony both failed to take what was given and got a little overexcited trying to do too much.

both are rookies with alot to learn. (and it's why any talk of jason for HC is completely idiotic)

I agree, people can say what they want about JJ but the few times he's gotten a chance he's been a really good screen receiver

I agree with their team and crowd at the beginning, but I felt things go south when they returned the KO for a TD.

We had regained control of the game, we had scored on our last two drives, and our D was holding them.

Even the sideline reporter mentioned how our team was deflated after that runback.

I think if that doesn't happen, we would have kept control of the game and scored 14 or 17 more points and go on to win 30-17 or something like that.

Definitely. He seemed to be squeezing several throws where the DB was only a marginal distance from the receiver. As we saw, pretty disastrous.

Those turn-catch-and-run routes are beautiful when they work (Crayton last week), but the margin for error is small.
