I've like everything I've ever heard/read about him. I have best wishes if not high hopes for him. I know they said he was really coming on at the beginning of last year. I just don't believe he is going to be fully recovered at the start of this year. I still think he will be good just not his best.... yet.

This isn't as ringing an endorsement as it would sound. It generally means that while he might have position flex, he doesn't have any mastery over a position, which means we have no idea how to use him in this system...

He maybe can, but hope they don't ask him to, let him concentrate on 1

I hope they are right, Crawford unfortunately was shut down for the season after the 1st training camp practice.

Given this team's gaping hole at DE, something crazy would have to happen in the draft for him to start anywhere else. Selvie is the team's best WDE right now.

Crawford is a heck of a prospect.
He played and acquitted himself well 2 years ago as a raw rookie with little big-time college exp.
He was touted a 4-3 guy coming out so the change didn't hurt him at all.
The player he is most similar to is a younger Jason Hatcher.

He has good size at 6'4" and 280+ with long arms and great strength (28 reps at 225).

I don't think he is a true candidate for all 4 positions but he should be a serious candidate at the SDE and be in the mix for 3T and 1T minutes in pass rushing sets.
He looks a lot like a Seattle DE. A big, strong guy who can absolutely own an area and still get after the QB.

It's hard to find a guy in this draft class to compare him to but the best may be Scott Chrichton due to the solid build and height/weight. Crawford is a slightly more athletic and bigger guy however.
One could also point to Kony Ealy who is very similar with even longer arms.

I've been higher on Crawford than most, but the guy barely played one position (and not even at a high level yet), now he can play 4?

True. But I think they have ideas and plans, they have a long way to go to see where he fits / plays best. After the draft, may help determine that. Plug him in the area that needs him the most, at the time.
I just hope they don't keep moving him around in TC to decide. Make that decision before hand.

Pending how the draft goes I suspect we will see Crawford as sort of a super sub. So good of a prospect you want to give him every chance to get on the field, but hasn't shown anything to prove he's capable of being your starting DE.
