Garrett explained in detail Orton’s mistakes on picks by cornerback Jerraud Powers and rookie safety Tony Jefferson.

“The first interception, I think he thought it was two-deep coverage where they plan man underneath, and what happened was the corner to their boundary made a man turn and then he came back and intercepted from outside in,” Garrett said. “That’s a play that sometimes happens in this league. Those corners are good at making those plays, and when you have out-breaking routes to inside receivers against rolled corners, it’s a recipe for disaster. And that’s what happened on that one.

“I think the look was right (on the second interception). It was a single-high defense and we tried to throw a seam to Dwayne Harris, and I just think he laid the ball a little too much and the single-high safety came over and made a play.”

Orton isn't that good and I don't really care for an explanation. He should be playing better against backups then he has.

There are 2-3 very loud anti-Romo guys here who swear Orton is better.

He's been throwing picks practically every day in practice, so it's nothing shocking to see a continuation of that problem in a live game. There can always be some explanation for every mistake. The trick is simply to avoid making a mistake to begin with. No excuses are ever required in that case. It's called not forcing the ball.

Got it, Red.

And what did you say to Orton after each pick..?

"It's OK..we'll fix it..?"

Come on.

I'd be say saying "another one like that and you're being demoted.."

When do we see Red get angry..?

Corrective and drawing lines in the sand about performance..?

He's got no fire in my opinion.

Therefore the team doesn't fear him and they don't respond.

It's awful to me.

I'm so tired of watching this team fall behind..

..abandon the run to throw.

..and we lose.

Red take a deep breath bro. It's preseason the game plan will look different during the reg season. They are just evaluating players. I think that's why they pulled Orton so fast because he really stunk it up. Red isn't the kind of guy like Cowher he will stay posed. It's just who he is. Lets just wait and see how things start to shape up. There's a lot to be encouraged about.

He was 8/9 for about 75 yards and a TD in our first two preseason games combined.

He had a rough night.. let's step back from the ledge, eh?

Roy I don't see a ledge. He has been pretty rough throughout the offseason from the report. I'm not going to get all excited over 9 passes man. So lets not get carried away and think we are just fine with Orton. To be honest this game has been more inline with what Orton has been doing through out the offseason.

The reports were that in mini camps and OTA's he was struggling. I haven't heard nearly as much of that since TC started.. and he looked just fine in his first two preseason games.

No one is expected to look in midseason form in OTA's.. so no, im not going to fret about Orten because he had a bad night.

We will just agree to disagree I don't like what I've seen out of him

Did you just get worked up about a conversation you invented in your own head? Or am I reading that wrong?

Orton did look bad tonight. I don't think there's much sugarcoating it. On the flip side, I really liked what I saw from Tanney, so, there's that.

Awesome..bet he's a riot to be around.

And Achmed.

Yeah although my buddy was let go for something not so funny well kinda funny. It had to do with the "older man doll" and what he colored on his face and the moron left it in his office and Jeff found it. Not good. But he did have a lot of fun working with him.
