Jerry could have done something if he really wanted to.

In a way, next year will be a win-win. Either this team makes it to the Super Bowl with the Einstein twins running the offense or (more likely), the chemistry experiment blows up and new leaders will be required.

The only down side would be that 2019 would be another wasred year. But Jerry has already asted 23 years, so what's another year. Right?
Yep and it won't cost him a dime, he'll still be the revenue king and with even more chatter about the team. A DC HC in a contract year is pure gold to him. He is one of the few GM's that doesn't have to win to keep his job.

You have the reading comprehension of a child. But thanks for noticing my disturbed mind, I've been told it's one of my finest features. But "made for TV' is far too PG for this mind, Rocky.
Well it's as obvious as the nose on your face.

That’s true. I’m assuming they didn’t really consider outside candidates, but maybe they had a hard time getting interest because of the one year cliff.
i doubt the "one year cliff" had anything to do with it. matt lefleur was oc under mcvay at rams for one year. but he didn't call the plays. he went to titans where he called the plays for one year. now he's hc of the packers. talented individuals aren't afraid to take chances. it just might be the cowboys see something in young Kellen. Stephen listens to the players as well as mcclay. and it appears more than one player ha a high opinion of moore.

Well, I can't see my nose because I am not in front of a mirror so I'll just take your word for it. If I close one eye and look toward the center I can see part of it but it is not an obvious nose, could be a thumb without a nail.

What's the risk? Is there one? If they think he's a bright bulb, why not find out? If he were to leave and shine somewhere lese, then they'd look bad because they're not known for their hiring of coaches.

And what name was out there that they could have hired? Used to be there was the ladder these coaches had to climb but back then there wasn't this 20-25% turnover every season. There are more of these guys fired before their contract is up than ever before.

The problem with Moore could be the learning curve with a challenged offense. Just how aggressive is he going to be allowed to be and who is he really going to answer to? If this gets off to a slow start, I could see them treating Garrett as the lame duck and having the keepers on the coaching staff report to them. That would not surprise me at all.

This team is ran by a couple of morons at the top
I disagree. I think stephen's very sharp and good at what he does. jerry's another matter. he should have stayed with socks and jocks.

i'm a firm believer in the eye test. didn't take me long to decide garrett didn't have it. same for linehan. never a fan of Marinelli. liked Richard a lot this year. liked the job sanjay lal did with receivers. always liked frank pollack but immediately saw a fall off in the o-line under alexander. we won't know about moore until he's given a chance. I doubt Stephen will allow garrett to do a sack job on him like he did on Callahan.

If we’re stuck with Garrett’s playbook, does it really matter who’s calling any one of the 8 plays in the playbook? Time will tell..............

Payton Manning’s wonderlic was 28, so obviously Jason Garrett is a way smarter football man, right? Drew Brees was also a 28. Who knew these guys were so average in reading defenses and understanding coverages and calling audibles and all the other mental aspects of the position and game?

How is Manning's coaching career coming along?
How about Brees'?

Do you know that OC is actually a different job, with different responsibilities, than QB? That designing an offense is different from executing one?

Oh, so only coaches can have a high capacity for understanding football ... lol. Come on. You know as well as I do Manning was considered to have an incredibly high football IQ, and many would say the highest of any QB in history, yet he had a wonderlic just slightly above Moore. I would refer to coaches, but we don’t have wonderlic scores for coaches, so players are the closest thing we have to refer to.

Even so, as I posted in another thread, you are incorrectly restricting the word word “genus” to only refer to a score on a general IQ test (and I guess now further restricting it to only appliy to coaches).

According to Merrimam Webster, one of the definitions of “genius” is a “single strongly marked capacity or aptitude”. Example: “had a genius for getting along with boys”.

The #1 definition in the Oxford Living Dictionary is “Exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.
Example: ‘that woman has a genius for organization’’

A definition for “genius” in the Cambridge Dictionary is
to be especially skilledat a particular activity:
Example: She has a genius for raising money.

Accordingly, use of the word “genius” is not restricted to a score on a general IQ test.

Garrett had to wait for permission to say anything......he wasn't going to make that mistake again.
