Remember the reputation Doug Pederson earned last year as the “riverboat gambler” who would go for it on 4th or use all kinds of gadget plays in goal line situations? What happened to that reputation yesterday?

With the game on the line late in the 4th qtr when the beagles scored their last TD with less than 2 min left was anyone else surprised that “Coach Gambler” didn’t go for 2 there? His defense was exhausted and to go into OT was a gamble in itself.

Even after a ridiculous personal foul call on DLaw would have moved it to the 1, he chose to keep the XP. Hmmm...

Then Garrett goes gambler when he goes for it on 4th and 1 in OT from the beagles 20 something. I think it was the right call but certainly not typical Garrett. Rest is history and Cowboys win.

Who’s the gambler now? Looks like “gambling Pederson” turned into “Choking Pederson” LOL!

I think Garret went for the win which is something he has been criticized for not doing this year. If you can't get 1 yard from Zeke on 2 carries, you deserve to lose. Given the way Philly was cutting through our defense and the uncertainty of Maher, it was a good risk.

Good to see Garrett go for a win instead of playing not to lose.

going for the PAT was the right call at that point..... your defense was playing good and getting to Dak. your offense was picking up steam....right call...

Yeah it worked out great didn’t it?
And his defense was bone tired and had given up two bomb TD passes in the last ten minutes of the 4th. Other than that, their D was playing well, lol. Seriously I think it was a bad decision on Pederson’s part, but the case can be made that tying it was the safe move.

Garrett goes for it on 4th and 1 more then most.

Garrett played poker with the "gambler" and Garrett took him down.

And his ACE, which the cards will be renamed now, the Ace will be known as ZEKE. Well, he won the hand and the pot, with that 1st down.

this response is called eye-sight-20-20.......

you call the plays at that point in the game. did he know what would happen in over time?
I understand. But his defense had been on the field most of the game and they hadn’t stopped us in the 4th other than in the last 1:30 when they sacked Dak. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but a good case could be made to go for two there and with Pederson’s rep for gambling, it seemed odd to me not to try it from the one yard line after the penalty.

Got to admit that I was scared to death on both decisions. If Pederson had failed to get two, then Philly fans would have eaten him alive. If the Cowboys had failed to pick up that fourth downs, fans would be fuming over him suddenly growing a spine.

that was a good call on garrett. no doubt. if anything, we were deep in their territory and our defense playing good and hopefully stop them from getting 50 yards for a field goal try in less than 3 minutes.

but Pederson not going for 2, was the right call is what I was referring to...

Not gonna lie, I was screaming for the FG on 4&1.
I was screaming for him to go for it because I didn't trust the kicker and even if he made it the iggles get the ball back with PLENTY of time to score a TD. Just made too much sense to me.

Plus, I think Aikman said they were 5 out of 5 on 2 point conversions.

Yeah, I was surprised Pederson didn’t go for it. Remember, had they taken the penalty on the XP, it would have been at the one instead of the two and a half yard line.

I can just imagine this page if Dallas had not converted....
