Instead of taking 3pts we go for TD and Romo fumbles - it happens. I dont like it and I think Romo was just trying to get in but... well....


I dont think Garrett wants to play anything "safe".
He wants to mold an identity for this team. There will be some growing pains but we have the players to do it.

I don't think that was the case. Of course Dallas wanted to put up 7 points. Romo saw no one open but saw a lane to run. Had Romo made it to the endzone no one would be talking about this but he did not secure the football and the result was a fumble. Romo himself said that he did not see anyone open he ran knowing he had a chance to get the TD and at worst a FG if he did not make it.

And he should be able to rely on his punt team to not allow a guy to come free right up the gut to block a punt in the 4th quarter of a close game.

I think Garrett would have gladly taken the FG if we were unable to put up 7. Romo did not run the ball on 3rd with the intent to fumble the ball. Dallas tried to score when you stop trying to do that then your not trying hard to win the game

Yep. There is no doubt that Red would have kicked the field goal if the fumble wouldn't have happen there though. He wouldn't have forced the issue in that position. We were still up 14 at that point I believe.

"Go for the jugular" is one of those things that sounds great, but there's a time to be smart and play the odds.

If that had been fourth down, it wouldn't have been "aggressive", it would've been monumentally stupid.

It's funny, because I heard just as much criticism from the peanut gallery about the Saints decision to call a running play at the end of their game with the Packers, rather than putting the ball in the hands of their Pro Bowl quarterback.

So which is it? Call a running play like the Saints did, because they failed on an earlier attempt to pick up a short-yardage first down with a passing play, or call a pass play like the Cowboys did, because their running game was largely ineffective for much of the game?

We should've handed it off 3 times. If you wanted to pass do it on 2nd down on a bootleg or something.

Meh, I have gotten over the fumble. It was a tad risky with but if he made it it would have put the game away. I can understand him going for it there though I wish he had protected the ball better.

Its the delay of games and that horrible throw to one of the best cornerbacks in the game that piss me off. Just thinking about it still angers me.
