Garrett informs media Jay Ratliff is off crutches

I am still baffled, as to why Jerry gave him another contract.

his sprain must have been of the lightest possible one; still do not see him playing next week; or if he is being all that effective. Better to give him another week or two

Because he's a proven NT who should be playing in a 4-3 DE and still is making pro bowls.

It was a dumb decision. It is the type of move that has kept this team in salary cap hell.

Jason Garrett just began his press conference and started it off by confirming they have made some moves, but the team will not be making any official announcements until tomorrow. According to @CBSSportsNFLDAL, the team has informed 21 of the 22 cuts already.

Offense (8)

QB Rudy Carpenter, WR Danny Coale, FB Shaun Chapas, OL Pat McQuistan, Daniel Loper, Harland Gunn, Jeff Adams, Ron Leary

Defense (4)

OLB Adrian Hamilton, ILB Orie Lemon, DE Clifton Geathers, DE Ben Bass

At the current count, that's 12 of the 22 cuts that have to be made, so there are still 10 to go

Yea, that 8th Wonder of the World outside Dallas just up and vanished like a mirage...

This is Ratliff's 2nd high ankle sprain in that leg. People who suffer subsequent high ankle injuries come back a lot faster from the first one.

We could actually see Jenkins, Ratliff, and Witten in game 1, which would mean we have no important injuries lingering from training camp.

That would be ironic, given the injury issues throughout camp.

And then with 10 days rest, the Cowboys could be pretty amazingly healthy heading into Week 2.

I got the impression from this training camp that the Cowboys were really taking a lot of precautions about the known starters on this team.

I know some were "hurting", because hurting is not as bad as "injured"...but, I just have that feeling that they were looking at a different method during camp about how to treat the starters, or potential starters.

I think Jenkins was the only injured player, right?

My guess is that he will be in alot more 4-3 this year than 3-4. I thought Rob was married to the 3-4 but that doesn't seem to be the case and we have better personnel for the 4-3 hybrid than the pure 3-4.

That concern to have all hands on deck to start the season, could be because the differences in top and middle of the NFC will be very tough and small in amplitude. Meaning, the first two games will be putting it all on the line for final pecking orders...from the start. The team really needs to start off with those two wins in the bank. Getting it started from the opening whistle...

Two away games is a tough road to take from the start of a campaign, but greatly important in an end view as well, although...

myself, 5 Star...I hope the entire team is completely focused for the starting two games and take mistakes out of the equation.

Well, CCboy, we are going to see who wants to go to battle and who doesn't...!

;)

I see a difference between night and day from last years camp to this years camp, so I hope it pays off...I hope the eventual roster understands what it takes to uphold the Cowboys tradition.
