Garrett is benefitting from two things right now

1) The Eagles blow. If this team were three games behind the Eagles in the division right now, Jerry would probably be more likely to cut bait at this point.

2) Jerry hates being told what to do. The more people in the media, even "allies" like Aikman and Irvin, start suggesting or hinting a change needs to happen now, the more likely Jerry will dig in. His ego is incapable of doing something that looks like he was made to do. In other words, the more people think he has to get rid of Garrett ASAP the more likely he's going to think he's smarter than they are and keep him around.

This franchise is basically a piece of wood floating in the ocean........ no purpose, no direction, no means of self propulsion forward or towards anything. It's just............. there. That's it.

Hard to argue anything different

Well that and there really is no one on the staff I would hand the reigns too.

If it were me and I could, I would bring in Meyer RIGHT now - at least he would get some more time to evaluate what he has!

The "there is no one to hand the reins to" is a weak angle and doesn't make much sense. You aren't asking anyone on the staff to coach the team for the next decade. You are just looking to add maybe a short term spark to team that has clearly let the fire go out for the current HC.

Who though. Richard? the defense is pathetic. I would not reward him with anything. I would call Rivera right now and ask him if he wanted to take over my D for the last 3 weeks and send Marinelli and Richard packing!

Doesn't really matter who at this point. It's just time to send the message that things are changing. I mean you could make Moore the HC for all I care at this point. Or Kitna.

Jerry’s a teenaged boy playing franchise mode in Madden on the PS4. It’s his game and he’s going to do whatever the hell he wants with it. He turns it off/on when he feels like it. Doesn’t take it too seriously because it’s all his.

But that piece of drifting wood at least has a chance of ending up on a beautiful island someday. This team?

My two things would be
  1. The NFC East being terrible, allowing this farce of a team to even talk about the playoffs.
  2. The sad fact that the entire staff is so bad that they don't even have a viable interim candidate.

The "spark" thing is overblown. More often than not it doesn't happen, unless you're talking about sparking the fan base.

I wouldn't promote anyone on this staff, including Richard who somehow remains mythical in the eyes of some here.

I'd clean house after the season. I doubt that Jerry will, however. He'll keep some holdovers, micromanaging as always, because obviously he knows what this team needs to win.

wow you hit it there, and all Jerry hand picked, just pathetic...

I hope they dont celebrate making the playoffs thinking they did something great. They don't deserve a division championship banner placed for this season.

There is no "spark", and there's likely not a single coach on this staff who would even want the interim coach job. And what for? To have the indignity of presiding over this train wreck for the next 3 weeks?

Go down the list, who would actually want it?
