I am sure Jaylon is not ready and needs lots of rehab on those muscles.
But I am not sure anyone can run a 50 yard race while wearing an ATO brace.
That could be the proof everyone wanted.

no one is still sure about whether he is wearing an ATO or not.
i was trying to infer whether it is reasonable to wear the brace and run a 50 yard race.
i seem to doubt it, but fuzzy seems to think it is reasonable...

If Garrett has been around Jaylon as much as he has and sees his progress as being impressive, that's a good very good sign as far as I'm concerned. I think the seriousness of his original injury and the fact that he hasn't been running any longer than he has is very encouraging. There's enough time left between now and the next TC for lots of progress to be made for one who trains as devotedly as Jaylon.

the foot cannot effectively push off as you stated
that seems like an extremely weird running motion
anything weird to me increases chance for injury

Here is someone partially recovered from foot drop with Jaylon's type of injury - 9 months after injury
Running after getting out of my Carbon-AFO. This was 9 months after the initial injury. Dorsiflexion, and eversion were non-existent directly after injury due to blunt force trauma to the right knee, medial side, causing ACL, LCL ligament tears and the peroneal nerve to be crushed. 9 months later, the nerve has regenerated on its own and I am able to jog/run without AFO assistance. I am completely out of my brace at this time as well. Strength and range of motion is not fully recovered, but is slowly making progress. Notice the heel hitting on the right foot due to lack of RoM and strength. I am getting better every few weeks!

Nick Eatman said on the Break a few days ago he saw Gregory, Tapper, and Jaylon in a 50 yard race and that Tapper smoked both of them. In his words it wasn't even close. I'd imagine a healthy Jaylon wouldn't be losing that foot race, granted Tapper did run a 4.6 40.

And Broaddus stated today Tapper won't be back this year. Take it for what it is worth.

I think out of the long shots only Gregory has a chance to contribute this year. I think Davis would be his roster spot.

You've burned a 2nd rounder. Let the fans in on his actual progress. It doesn't help or hurt the team to give the fans a REAL update.

I think the update has always been the same. They are waiting for the nerve to fire up. They keep answering the question they just keep answering differently essentially saying the same thing.

Actually, he said that if he were to guess, he'd say there's a better chance that Gregory plays at the end of the season than Tapper. He then qualified it by saying it was just his opinion and that he hadn't heard anything concrete.

All Gregory has to do to be available is not get caught smoking pot for 3 months.
He has done it for a few months, or I guess his chances are better than 50-50.
Someone already posted that if he failed again, we would know it quickly.

He also thought it was reasonable to think he'd be ready by July 2016.
