Man, I want Garrett to succeed but I was a little dissapointed 2 times today. One was after Felix's fumble Garrett kind gave him a pat on the back when he came to the sidelines Like saying it's alright. The second time was when Beuhler kicked the ball out of bounds he did the same thing. I really wanted him to let them know that those misstakes are unacceptable and really voice or show his displeasure. I guess it just reminded me of something Wade would have done and I was looking for more of something closer to what Jimmy or Bill would do.

The it's OK golf clap is more like Mack Brown than Wade. Wade normally covered his face and looked confused.

I guess I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure that Felix knows fumbling the ball is a bad thing. And I'm sure Beuhler knows that kicking the ball out of bounds is a bad thing.

Was different for me, I saw Garrett trying to keep everyone positive. I know he will have them correct those mistakes in practice, but with the fragile psyche the players have right now, positive enforcement seems the right way right now.

Yea, I think he was just trying to keep their spirits up.

Wade usually just stared into space like he didnt know where the hell he was most of the time.:laugh2:

Some people just can't celebrate a win anymore.

Yeah, the team also knows that quiting is a bad thing but that didn't stop them from doing it. Players knew those things were bad under Jimmy and Bill but those coaches also let the players know personally that it wouldn't be tolerated.

:hammer:

Having Garrett on the sideline is like a breath of fresh air.

I was tired of watching Wades, OH NO here we go again, look.

What if he just said "Felix, you know you're better than that, come on." or something along those lines? You don't have to be a raging maniac and tear somebody apart to get your point across. You can show disappointment and show that you demand higher quality of play without screaming in rage every time something goes wrong. A pat on the back and a "lets go and turn it around" can be just as good.

Call me crazy, but I doubt he said "it's ok to fumble, don't worry about it."

We're realistically looking forward to 2011 and who we will have coaching the team then. A win to get us to 3-7 is good but aren't we supposed to be looking at the bigger picture and that's how this season relates to next season. Answer me this, is giving the player who just fumbled inside the 20 a pat on the back closer to Wade or Jimmy and Bill? I'm just trying to get as far away from the Wade style of coaching as posible.

Maybe he should have just cut Felix right there on the sideline cause that's what Jimmy would have done:rolleyes:

The game is without error. You just try to stay positive, put it behind you and move on. Whats wrong with that approach? Seems to be working. Wouldn't you agree?

Jason is expressing calm confidence in his players. There are three styles. Parcells was the type to verbally assault you on the sidelines- call his style fear. Wade would act like you just kicked his dog, moan and grimace and then back you 100% in the press conference after the game. Call that "spoiling the grandson". What Jason is doing is similar to Jimmy. "We've got this, let's go." Steady Eddie.

Jimmy could also just be plain mean. It'll be interesting if Jason shows us any of that.

I hope this is the case, if he's going to be "Steady Eddie" at sometimes he may have to be "plain mean" to get his point across.

NOt to mention that Barber was starting over Felix again ....you know it's like Garrett wants Barber to fall in line so bad that he will do anything to please him..it's really disgusting to watch. And good call on the Felix Jones fumble right now that Felix is young he needs to be grabbed by his face mask by Garrett and yelled at.....I've said this many many times....Wade=Garrett ,,,Garrett=Wade....the NFL was built on the shoulders of strong willed coaches and ladies and gentlemen....Garrett and Wade are NEITHER......

I agree, this is more of a Jimmy Johnson approach. Jimmy clapped guys off the field when they made mistakes every single time. Parcells chewed them out, Wade did nothing.
