Garrett need time

Garrett needed more time as QB coach before becoming an OC. He is setting us back big time the window is closing with Garrett pushing it down not proping it open.

If we miss the playoffs this season, frankly you have to wonder about Red Ball.

One can argue he was only the interim coach in 2010, but pretty much everyone knew Jerruh was going to make him the HC. So this will be 2.5 seasons basically at the end of this year. Frankly you can argue that if serious change has not been made by the end of this season why keep him?

Real coaches have their players ready to play.

Real coaches look at the info they get through the game and make adjustments at halftime or during the game.

I saw neither yesterday. This team laid a big egg. Not all on the coach, mostly on the players. Who got beat down good by the Seahawks.

I have never seen a team where "so called" big time players just disappear in games. Bryant is becoming gold for that. It looked like the same old defense that can't even make one big play for a very struggling offense.

I think it has something to do with Rex Ryans new 5 yr old haircut.

This is a put up or shut up year for Garrett and Ryan. Sorry, but excuse time is over.

We should all give Garrett the same treatment Wade got.....nothing less....not more excuses...etc.

I liked Wade here.....I thought he got picked on by the media and fans for his lackluster PC.....etc.....

But overall ....I didnt think he did that bad of a job coaching.....and imho not any worse then what we have seen from JG.

We all fell in love with " physical practices" ......Wade's "camp cupcake"....and have we really seen any differences ? Are we more of a physical team now? Are we more disciplined? Is there really anymore accountability?

We churned the roster and filled it with RKG players......thats what we have been told.

Yet....we still are undisciplined.....we still show up flat ....we still play to the level of our opponents and dicate nothing ......

Im sorry....Im probably overreacting....but yesterday defeat was pathetic....it just showed that we really havent taken a step forward....we still have no accountability....we still cant adjust.....we still have no heart....

I can understand....having a bad game....some stupid plays...just bad luck...etc......but this was different......why did we play a soft zone?........then we got beat up physically and then quit.....it was like we were scared of them.....

Im sorry....I just cant accept that it was a letdown game from the Giants victory. JG preached it....one game at a time......no highs....no lows.....but with extra time to prepare...we perform like this?

So disappointing.....:(

Wasn't Wade who was the problem..

True, and Wade got stuck with Garrett as his offensive coordinator.

Well, the common denominator in all this is ... drum roll ... the one and only, the "human computer" and "the master of the press conferences with his staple "it's a process'" Garrett.

Spin it Garrett lovers and sympathizers.

solid post. i too have been wondering if there is a double standard with the way we treated wade compared to garrett.

I am not satisfied with Garrett at this point. That being said, he gives us the best chance to have a real coach. We all better hope he doesn't get fired any time soon. The Cowboys as we know will be no more. I really believe at some point he will get it together. At least I hope.

Jerry will go back to a puppet of a coach. I do believe Garrett has more say than past coaches other than Jimmy.

Just curious as to who thinks any other franchise would offer JG a head coaches job if he were fired today?

There sure is.....Wade wasnt the greatest at dealing with the media....He got picked on by those mediots and fans ate it up .....

Im not saying Wade was a great head coach.....he wasnt....far from it....but I dont think he did a bad job.

Now we have JG.....I hoped I would see a improved team....not just in the win column but more importantly in attitude....accountablility....discipline....etc.

But I havent seen much change.....we got rid of old washed up players....we drafted solid football RKG players....etc.....

Yet....we are still undisciplined....we still lack heart....we still come to games IMHO unprepared....we still continue to play to the low level of a opponent....

Yesterday was as disappointing loss as any I felt during the past several years.....its the way they came out....how they handled adversity...how they quit.

A loss early like this doesnt bother me....its the way they lost....I dont usually turn a game off ....I try to bear thru it and hope .....but yesterday.....I turned it off....I was disgusted in how they performed....how passive we were....how unprepared we were.....

It was a bad coaching job by all of our coaches......and to top it off....players quit...they just gave up....and that is never a good sign...

Princeton or some other Ivy League team. And that is it, seriously.

Mash, everything you have posted has been happening since Jimmy left. This team has been soft since we won our last Super Bowl. The only constant in all of that time is Jerry. Parcells could not change the mindset so unless the team is completely gutted, I just have no faith it will ever change. We have nice guys in our locker room. There is no one like a Marshawn Lynch that will keep punching you in the mouth until you fall. Just the facts. It is the way it is with this franchise.

I can only blame Jerry for hiring the coaches......I dont blame Jerry for this team being soft...undisciplined...etc

The team takes the characteristics of the Head Coach....not the owner or GM...

I firmly believed years ago that we just had some stupid players....but as the years passed....I dont know anymore....The core has been the same here for some time and we still make stupid mistakes....is it them?

Or maybe we havent found the right HC....and that is Jerry fault.

Fisher yesterday benched a star player......When was the last time we witnessed a player benched?

I was really hoping that JG was the guy....who would right this ship....but his talk is getting cheap to me now. Like I mentioned before....I can handle a loss...even to a average team like Seattle....stuff happens....NE lost yesterday to the Cards....

But what bothers me is how we lost.....how unprepared we looked....the lack of discipline....and then how the players quit......just gave up......and thats all coaching....We played passive on D....we were not focused on O......

It was just sad to watch.....I expected better.....

I hope we can overcome this.....

You aren't overreacting. You got it exactly right. The media hated Wade because he followed Parcells and looked and talked like a bumpkin -- not the way they thought a coach *should* look -- so they told everyone what a fool he was. They love Garrett because he has youth and an Ivy League degree and a deep voice from behind the lectern, so they tell everyone what a great coach he is. Too bad those superficial things don't equal coaching.

Props to you for being one of the few objective ones out there.

Of all the posts I have read on this board since this season started back in August and training camp, this one is by far the best.

Evidently snap count was an elective at Princeton.

Garrett need time...management skillz. His sorta stink.

You've been wondering?

It's been evident for a while.

Yesterday may have been one of the worst offensive performances the Cowboys have put on in a long, long time.

No meaningful injuries to skill players. Dez, Austin, Witten, Romo, Ogletree, Felix, Murray.

All in the game. Sure, new center was out there but that's what happens when you do absolutely nothing in the offseason to address the depth at that position. Or even the talent for that matter.

Dallas was as healthy as they have ever been and the offense showed up for a single drive.

Nevermind that the defense was in the game for entire first half, the defense still gets the brunt of the criticism.

................"he needs more TIME"

.....sincerely, Jim Harbaugh

It's a process. If you can't see it you're blind (or so I've heard). A 20 point loss to a team starting a midget rookie QB is all part of the plan.
