Buck: Ahmad, can you tell us what happened on that 3rd and 9 play that resulted in a penalty. It looked like you could have broken up the pass cleanly to force the offense to convert on 4th down.

Ahmad: Well ya know Joe, I probably could have broken up that pass to force a 4th down. In all seriousness, I think I probably would have intercepted it and just ended the game. Instead, I decided to play my game and go for that big hit because that's what everyone came here to see, am I right. People cheer and clap a deflection or interception, but if you knock someone back to kindergarten.....that's when you get the ooh's and ahhh's. Like the 4th of July, I'm trying to blow stuff up and give the people fireworks, baby! Besides, wasn't like they scored on that play. If my teammates had stepped up and held them out of the endzone for the next four downs we still win. Ahmad can't do everything, Joe.

I don't. It's the same message that everyone tries to send to Dez. He could be "that guy" on a defense that desperately needs "that guy!" Look at the way Pete Carroll addresses his guys and the PI calls. "We are gonna play physical like we do, there's no way they are gonna call every play a penalty". And guess what? It got them all the way to the SB champs.


On a side note, the NFL totally overlooks the way these offensive guys are shifting into these hits.
