Garrett, RKG, draft, Josh Gordon

Be the RKG on Sunday, apparently the game isnt played in the chior room.

We need to change RKG to RPG. As in the rockets fired by soldiers.

Real Professional Guys.

Just spit balling here, having fun. No one should get all upset.

I'm curious to see if Garrett will draft a player with character issues. It appears that he would for the right price.
As he should. Character issues are just part of the whole risk calculation. If the risk-reward ratio is favorable, you take a chance on the guy.

The other factor: once you have a locker room with a preponderance of "RKGs" to set the tone, you should be better able to accommodate a small number of guys who come in with problematic backgrounds.

Garrett's already said that talent comes first. They don't go out and look for choirboys, they look for players with talent and skills, and just weight the ones with drive and attitude somewhat higher.

I do want to thank the Browns for taking this bullet for us though.

Good or bad, that's a phrase which I wouldn't mind the media grabbing hold of and running with.

Make no mistake. If Jerry wants someone, he gets him. Coach be damned.

So can we chill on the RKG stuff.

What's wrong with using the term "RKG"

The way some use it here its a bit over the top - its not unique to Jason.

I just don't believe the Cowboys would draft a project at WR who was caught passed out at Taco Bell and had possession marijuana. This guy failed multiple drug tests and was kicked off his team; he is a project with major character concerns. The Browns look desperate to me. They probably just should have stayed put and taken Julio Jones.

I hope this is just misinformation by the Cowboys that is being used to motivate Bryant and Austin.

I'd definitely call Dallas' bluff on this one. At least, I hope they were bluffing, because spending a 3rd or 4th round pick on a project (with character concerns) who has a history of unreliability isn't very smart, imo. This guy would have been off my draft board.

I can forgive the passed out at Taco Bell and marijuana possession stuff. College kids are, by and large, ********. If guys who had smoked weed at some point in their lives were taken off our board, we wouldn't have one. As long as he took care of his business and didn't let it happen again then i could chalk it up to just making a stupid mistake, and who hasn't made mistakes?

The fact that he kept failing drug tests when his entire livelihood was at stake is really the determining factor though. He can't do what's needed for himself, how can he do what's needed for his teammates? I really couldn't care less if a guy smoked marijuana as long as he showed up on time, and put in the work needed. But this guy is just an idiot. He'll never be anything but a JAG in this league, if he's even in it after training camp.
