Garrett vs McCarthy (support)

Could this be the end of the McCarthy era, some feel it should have ended sooner. When I say SUPPORT, during every off season with Garrett, Jerry came out saying "Jason is our guy!" With today's recent comments from Jerry and MM, I'm not sure there's much support. .

Hopefully Jerry makes the right choice. For multiples years he showed love got red genius JG, give me your thoughts please

McCarthy is better than Garrett, but just being better than Garrett is not good enough.

Of course, Garrett was Jerry's guy. McCarthy had no ties to Jerry - he was just the guy with the best resume at the time. I don't think Jerry has ever gotten over Garrett - it is why he has been quiet and not as vocal the last 2 years. Ideally he wants to always keep the Cowboys HC job in house with someone with close ties to him. He is so pissed right now because McCarthy failing in the playoffs is like justification for Jerry that he never should have hired an outsider.

So expect an even bigger puppet next.

So far I have Garrett better than Mike.

1. Neither has full control of the staff or players
2. Neither make a difference on offense or defense.
3. Not 100% sure how much power either had. Garrett was forced to hire Linehan and hand over playcalling. Mike wasn't given the choice, and he didn't seem to help much during Moore's struggles.
4. Garretts been gone 2 years and we have the same issues with players not working hard enough to win.
5. After 10 years of Garrett the players never really quit on him. Mike already admitted he allowed relaxed practices for multiple weeks.

This team is performing at almost the exact same level as when we had Garrett. The team hasn’t improved at all and we have better players overall.

The fact is we all know and Jerry knows that the team this year was built to compete with the best this year. Failing the way we did should be unacceptable and questions should be raised. I think we need a real disciplinarian to lead this team like Jimmy. Jimmy got tougher after each win.

MM was likely only hired because Sean Payton wasn't available...after Jerry realized his mistake in letting him go to begin with. I would also be willing to bet that hiring MM decision might have been influenced by MM okaying KM to stay on as the OC. I am sure other coaches they interviewed wanted their full staff. My hunch is that when Jerry couldn't get Sean, he didn't want to make the same mistake with KM and thus forced MM's hand and thus not risk losing another home grown "talent".

As for support, both JG and KM were players and then coaches and thus part of the family. MM is an outsider.
