I am really interested to see how he game plans for this weeks game. I was thrilled with the first game against Philly last season, but disappointed with the second meeting. I think this year we have some very special players to counter the blitz. I would hope to see a little more of Felix for this purpose. I am also interested to see how aggressive the Eagles are with us..

I think Garrett and Romo are where this game is won or lost.


I just don't fear McNabb, Westbrook and Co. these last few years. Now more than ever I have confidence in this match-up.

I haven't felt this good about our D-Front against their OL since 1995. We are going to control the trenches on D.


We have an even greater advantage in the trenches on offense and this is the key.
J. Johnson is a real master. Everyone always overestimates how often Johnson blitzes. He doesn't blitz that much more than most d-coordinators, his defenses just blitz much more effectively than most defenses.
He's a master of getting a blitzer free or in an advantageous match-up.

That used to be a killer for us, but Romo doesn't sweat the free blitzer.

What concerns me is lock down coverage with seven guys and decent pressure from their front four.
What concerns me is them over-playing pass at the expense of sound run defense as Johnson often does and us not taking advantage of it.

We need to play power football. Heavy dose of two TE's, FB, WR. Lets get a hat on a hat and knock them back. Run Barber, run Jones.

We have to lean on them with our massive OL. Lean, lean, lean. Take them out of what they want to do. Which is play pass and rush the passer.

70% of our plays should be running plays. By games end it should be 45 runs and 20 passes.

It's time to see if Garrett is worth all that money we pay him.

We have more talent offensively, than most teams in the NFL. Philly has talent on defense, but it's nothing we shouldn't be able to handle. What always sets them apart on defense is their scheme.

Johnson is just simply a step ahead usually. He's not fooled twice. We dominate them in our first game last year, but he made the right adjustments.

Now, it's Garretts' turn. Let's see how well he counter-adjusts. He's had all offseason to look at Johnson's schemes....he's had a long time to find any weaknesses.

Of course Reid is just as good of an OC as Johnson is a DC. He's the reason Philly can get by with a subpar WR corps. Last year, we did a nice job of containing the Eagles....both games. McNabb is healthy and has a chip on his shoulder.

I think this is going to be a tough, tough game. I think we'll see what our staff is made of Monday Night. We know Philly has great coaches. Let's see if ours can match.

Garrett has you the time wisely to possibly counter Johnson's scheme and I think the new personnel on the offense will play a big part in that. Jones and also Choice. I too believe a heavy dose of running will combat his blitzing scheme. One thing that I do hope we implement that we did not do effectively in the past is use the back screen and dump of pass. With F. Jones' speed and vision this could make for some big play potential. Defensively, I feel we are more equip to deal with Phillies offense. I hope no one really believe D. Jackson will have that type of output against the Boys D.

That is about as silly a thing I have ever seen you post.

On a serious note though running the ball and playing keep away are the biggest thing to me in this game. IN philly we ran the ball nearly 30 times and had the ball for about 8 minutes more, in Dallas we ran the ball about 13 times and had it about 9 minutes less.

Pound the ball and keep from getting in bad field position.

I do think when we do pass though we should go for big plays. Romo did have his second best game of his career at philly last year. the only game he was statistically better was the tampa turkey game in 06.

I do think this game feels alot like indy in 06 and green bay in 07. Romo and the defense were outstanding in both. Usually I would be feeling pessimistic but I do think we are going to win this game.

Couldn't disagree with that more. Our OL will determine whether or not we win this game. Doesn't matter what Garrett calls, if the OL doesn't pick up Philly's blitzes, it won't matter.

And obviously if we don't pick up their blitzes, Romo won't have a chance.

Yes that proves your point. Cause only josh mcdaniel runs the offense in New England and a certain someone doesnt have a say.

I mean that certain someone has told people that he needed to step back and get some help this season because he feels like he has been coaching all the units by himself, or at least that is the way clayton and mortensen put it.

He may have a say, but he certainly didn't call the plays. There were games last year where he wouldn't even watch the offense while it was on the field.

Thats a double edge sword because when felix is called to pass protect can he be counted on??

I do think this is an opportunity for Garrett to unveil some of the new wrinkles in this year's offense -- be it lining up Felix all over the place or showcasing Bennett a little more. I'd like to think we can beat the Eagles just manning up, but I would think some new looks will be needed Monday.
