The beach had nothing to do with it.

I watch every year at the pre-season games and people making excuses for poor results. Still early, but teams don't usually turn on their offense when the lights come on. This has been a habit with this team. How they play in pre-season is how they play in the regular season.

I wasn't greatly impressed with the starting offense.

I agree somewhat.

I actually see some really good things with the offense.

Short crossing routes, solid line play, weapons everywhere, zone blocking, and pace being added to the offense.

We just did stupid stuff and that is what this team has been about.

The final Wade preseason was the worst I've ever seen and we aren't anywhere near that bad.

At some point this year we have to start playing smart football.

If its same ole same ole with this seasons Cowboys then it is more than likely all we will ever get out of the Romo and Garrett era.

Way to get personal and rude when you're out of answers. I read enough of your posts to know that's your forte

Right! Rude? The truth hurts right? You claim going to the beach for 2 hours in the late afternoon is why this team didn't play well. You can't handle the fact that isn't the case and when it's pointed out you couldn't handle it. But no you don't know my "forte" but you are pretty obvious with yours.

The beach day is an Oxnard tradition. I don't think it was the reason for the poor offensive play, nor was it Jason Garrett's fault.

'Lol' at the OL and running game problems even getting any run in a performance where we had 6 turnovers. If we can't all agree that it was the turnovers that got us beat today, then there is no hope for ever making a convincing case for not turning over the ball more than you can take it away.

I don't hijack threads. But thanks and I have nothing to get over. You are the Debbie downer going from thread to thread trashing everything about this team. Just for "attention" why don't you grow up dude and stop crying. Blame the beach for some bad football.

curious what do the turnovers have to do with the lack of a running game?

This wasn't even close to the Texans or Charges preseason games back in 2010.

That's a question for you to answer, if you've got any ideas.

If turnovers had much to do with a lack of a running game, then a positive running game would correlated with victories the way a positive turnover differential does. Of course, it doesn't, but nobody here who wants to see us overspend resources on trench players wants to hear that.

Funny I have had nothing but respectful and reasonable discussions w everyone here since I've been posting. And lol at me being a downer you obviously got the wrong guy. It's no coincidence you would be the one unpleasant encounter here for me seeing how you treat others. You're only proving what you are dude you have zero effect on me. Now go have the last word I'm done w ya

With six turnovers in a game that may have been due to the end of camp let down, we will see what Mr. Garrett has in the tank come next practice.

Offensive line with the starters stunk on ice and that is the preview of this season if they don't find an answer.

Mo sitting out never bothered me with two more games to go before the ammo is live.

Butt this is a great opportunity for the coaching staff to rip this team up.

Let's see if Garrett fires them up or Wade Phillips them with a big hug. Because that game was pitiful.

Well..

..I think Red needs to take all the blame for not having this team ready.

and I hope the coaching staff rips the team up.

I mean..one of the biggest things that just kills me is..

..here we are going on 3 years into Red being the HC..

and we still have no identity as a team.

Except as being mediocre.

Red was supposed to be cleaning up the old culture and moving forward.

..I see nothing but the same old thing.

Which means if the old culture needs to go..then Red is part of that culture and he needs a new position.

Preferably somewhere else.

I mean..I don't know of ANY team that would want Red as a HC..?

Does anybody know..in the NFL..? As an assistant coach..?

Maybe at the college level..which is where Garrett needs to go and hone his coaching.

Jones has found another Campo in Garrett.

That's my take.

Lol unpleasant encounter? I'm sorry I've been on this bored since 02 guy and I have zero problems with anyone on this board. You obviously have me confused with someone else. See you keep trying to call me out to make me look like the bad guy or a bad poster. Which is funny once you were the one who made the claim that going to the beach is why this team played terrible. SMH get over it.

You don't think he has cleaned this team up or brought in better talent? I agree they have to clean up the TO's. I think the penalties have been down this preseason so far. I don't really recall a lot of holding calls. I do agree with the identity thing we let BC call the plays and it still looked the same. Now granted that could be because they haven't really game planned or scripted Many plays. I could be wrong. I do think you will see a sharper team next week. Although if Dunbar and Dez don't fumble this game looks different.

The lack of a running game deserves run. Moreso than the turnovers IMO. 3 of the turnovers were by backups. 1 was a fluke. I'm not making excuses for it but the run game was atrocious today even in the 3rd quarter vs the 2nd team D. This is very concerning for me.

We can just agree to disagree on that point. I'm not even slightly interested in the running game's effectiveness as long as we're moving the ball. Without the early WR fumbles, this game has a very different outcome.

I don't know what game you guys watched but the starting offensive line wasn't bad.

The pass protection was good and Murray only had like 5 rushing attempts... which isn't much to grade the run blocking on.

MW is right on.....this game was brutal, but they didn't even TRY to establish the run: just winged it around and turned it over and committed penalties: JUST like last 7 yrs or so....more of the same

About the running game. As much as I like DM do you think Dunbar fits this offense better? I got the feeling watching today that Dunbar seems to be more explosive and can get to the outside and hit the hole a lot faster. I think if they fed him the ball more the rushing yards would've been up. I could be wrong but just an observation

I think they are two different kinds of RB. Not sure Dunbar could carry the ball 15 times a game or more on a routine basis but he might. I like the tandem. Dunbar is more explosive in space that's for sure and has the speed I once thought Murray had. Pushes Tanner down the pole.
