Gary has a new contract

So basically a 2 year deal with a 6-8 mil cap hit if cut after 2027 season. We save 11 this year and he'll probably count about 6 mil next season.

Draft a nice DT in the 3rd that can learn from Clark and Williams

Draft a LB or DE and LB or CB with 2 1st

I like Demonte Capehart. 6'5" 313...4.85 forty. He can play 1 gap or 2 gap. Freakish block shedder. Knocks guys around. Looks VERY good on tape. Gives centers and guards hell. Grown man strength. Powerful anchor. Can split double teams. He should probably be there as late as the fourth round. Zane Durant is another at 6'1" 290...4.75 forty...but he's a 1 gap guy. Both should be there in the fourth round.

We need a space eater that can take 2 OL from time to time. Learn this season, work out w Williams and Clark next offseason and shows glimpses of greatness in 27, then dominates from there.

Watch Capehart's highlights. He anchors well and can penetrate when needed. He can hold and split double-teams and shed blocks proficiently.

or trade down from 20 and get an extra 3rd and draft CB ,LB,DT and DE in the 1st 100 picks.

U think he will last to our 3rd or should we trade back from12 or 20to pick up a second instead?

It's actually only four void years. The reporting was corrected. The maximum allowed is 5, per league rules.
Without knowing a ton about contracts and cap management that sounds pretty crafty. Maybe a dumb question, but is he now under contract for 6 years, only two which would incur a cap penalty if he was cut?

He projects to 3rd or 4th round. He should be there at 92. Probably couldn't take him earlier than that anyway...since they don't have a second. They would probably want to take him in the fourth. They might have other ideas for that 3rd. Still...pretty good pickup for 4th. Some have him as low as the 5th round.

Just two years. The void years are used to lower the cap hits for any bonuses that are paid in any given year (guaranteed money). So a 10 million dollar bonus paid in 2026 can be spread out over all remaining contract years...including void years. So instead of the full 10 million counting against the cap in 2026 it becomes 1.66 million (10 divided by 6). So you've maximized cap space for 2026 by spreading out the bonus. Accounting trick that allows teams to push a LOT of money into the future.

A 6 year deal? Wow. Unusual. Only reason you do this on contracts is your getting ready to do some huge signings. My guess is Pickens or Aubrey.

Trading back is pointless

We aren’t good with any picks above first rounders
