Here in northern CA it is around $4.45. I was listening to a guy on the radio who use to work in the oil business and he reported that CA gets most of it gas from Alaska due to transportation costs. CA usually has the highest gas prices around and they always jack up the price in the summer time because they know that Californians will drive no matter what. He went on to say that state gov't will not interfer due to tax they get. Some how the gov't needs to pay off the $36 billion dollar debt that we are in. The governator has already cut all programs by 10% across the board. Californians are not to happy with him especially the educators, firemen, police, etc.ninja;2111049 said:I'll try to do a little better. I read that the biggest factor is your distance from a refinery. The closer you are to a refinery the better. Also, taxes differ from state to state. I think NY taxes at 60 cents/gallon. Gov't regulations are also a factor. And demand. And everything costs more in Calif for some reason. My Calif. relative came to Pgh and was amazed that the strawberries grown in Calif and shipped all the way to Pgh were still cheaper than the same strawberry sold in Calif. Go figure.
But, don't worry. Nancy Pelosi and her now Democratic majority promised to lower the price of gasoline two years ago if elected. Well, we're still waiting. Anytime Pelosi.
I hope you're right, but I doubt it. Where I live gas was $3.86 on Sat morning, by noon, it was $4.09.WoodysGirl;2111484 said:3.86 when I got gas this morning. Pleasant surprise. I only put $30 in, so I'll have to fill up again before the week is out cuz it only went to 3/4 tank. Hopefully, it'll go down a few pennies by then.
