I think it's pretty clear that he's made the active roster (if not in Dallas, he will somewhere) so while this is a setback it isn't the type of thing that's devastating like it would be to a player like Noah Brown. If they are going to keep him, he'll get plenty of practice reps over the next 4 years. They aren't counting on him to start unless they have a rash of injuries at the position.

Hate seeing Rico lose time and likely will be out this coming game but hopefully can get back for the dress rehearsal vs Raiders. As for what Role Rico may have with the team, well that is why we go through camp and pre season to get a look at players and what they are able to do.

Honestly I wish we could stash him on IR for the year. He's not going to ply much unless Swaim or Hanna get hurt but he won't make it back to the PS either

Rico needs the reps but it is what it is. He will be on the roster or someone's roster. Generally every year there are guys cut and people always say they will be signed but few are and rarely do those who get signed come back to haunt you
Rico is different. He is raw but a tremendous athlete with star potential. He may or may not be a huge contributor this year but the potential is too great

Today's injury report at camp: Tight end Rico Gathers suffered a concussion after an inadvertent helmet to helmet collision with safety Kavon Frazier. Gathers and Frazier were going for a Cooper Rush pass and came together in the middle of the field. Gathers remained down for a little bit but was able to walk off the field. His status for Saturday's game is not clear.

I can't wait to see Rico catching touchdown after touchdown during the regular season and Cooper standing there ready to backup Dak.
