GB: Dallas Cowboys newest running back isn't fair

I will never complain about a guy being too fast. Blue has the kind of speed Dallas needs on offense. Watching him run pass routes, I think he does it better than some of Dallas's receivers and better than any Cowboys RB I can recall in years. He has the potential to be a true pain in the butt for defenses.

Now, if Dallas can only block for him. It's not just the OL. Even if we assume Smith, Beebe and Booker will be dominant inside, Blue is going to earn his keep running outside. That means our TEs and WRs, had better learn to block and hold their blocks without holding. And this is where I think Mingo might have an advantage over Tolbert in the competition for the WR2 spot.

I love the idea of getting him matched up with LBs on pass plays.

Because both are being majorly hyped right now. I just want to know who to blame if/when he doesn't perform.

He is a very interesting long term guy. He has the measurables needed. Let’s also remember though that he barely had a 1000 yards for his career in college and was effectively beaten out at UT. Now that means he doesn’t have a lot of mileage on his body, but you have to remember that as well. It doesn’t scream of heavy load as a rookie

What do you expect. It's not a negative on the player, per se. We've heard this for decades from THE TEAM. And every year it's the same. Goal not achieved or even close.

Exactly. PS games really gives us no indication without the play of any staters, the main guys anyway. Even then it is all generic.

Oh, there will be standouts as usual. Over hyped and over rated players as usual. But a few may shine, and be able to contribute as well. Such as Overshown, before his injury the 1st year.

That’s not being negative, that’s just being real. FWIW, I like this pick in the 5th and clearly believe his role will be much bigger than Deuce’s, but just reminding everyone that right now fans of 31 other teams are watching hype videos of their 3rd day selections as well.

Lot of seasoned fans in this room. Most should fall under the, “I’ll believe when I see it” umbrella by now.

I'm excited to see what he does as a Cowboy! With a solid O-line with good run protection, this kid's gonna smoke some defenses.

At Texas, with one of the best offensive lines in the country, he rushed for 730 yards. Almost half the teams in the NFL drafted a running back before the Cowboys drafted Blue. Crazier than the negativity is the notion this guy is definitely the answer to the Cowboys’ lack of an effective run game.

remember Pollard was fast too and we heard these exact same things when he was drafted and every year there after. how did that work out? I don't know. I go based on historical data that is 30 years in the making, as opposed to fantasy land projections.

and interesting, you are already building an excuse for why Blue is going to struggle. its the OL fault...and the WRs and TEs, because Gawd knows Blue is a HOFer already waiting to happen and if he fails its everybody else's fault but never Blue!

This site is depressing. People here bash Rocky for taking a break from here when we lose, and those same people applaud Mountaineer for going into hiding when we go on a win streak. LMAO This site is backwards. There's a handful of true fans here is the reason why I peek in from time to time. The inmates have taken over the asylum. Has it always been this way?

Don’t mind fans being skeptical at this point or critical. I mean I am skeptical and not happy at all.
But the personal attacks/name calling of players and over the top negativity is frankly embarrassing and makes this place barely tolerable.

I am shocked the leaders of that culture on this board have any following at all. Personally wish they would get banned or go away. It isn’t an ‘sports opinion’ to lie and blast a player personally. That should not be tolerated on a fan message board.
