To some degree I agree with that, but the talk all week was the Cowboys wanted to win that game for big Mike and a Packers loss would have pretty much stuck a fork in them. It’s not like the Cowboys like Aaron Rodgers, and this was an opportunity to really get after him so in some ways the loss was a little concerning. The Cowboys are the only team they’ve beaten in the past seven weeks. We’ll see if we still have the same intensity we saw today against the Giants on Thanksgiving. We can’t just keep flipping the switch when we want to. We have to start playing consistent football.
I get it, but they are an NFL team led by an all timer at QB. Narratives don’t matter when it comes to the game on the field.

Without the narratives, does that seem like a terrible loss? Especially with the parity in todays game?

But yes, consistency is key!

The Packers had lost five straight and went back to losing a few nights ago, so yeah it was a terrible loss especially considering we had a 14 point lead. If we can’t be all-time great QBs, we may have big problems if we face Tom Brady again.

Detroit lost 4 in a row and just got 2 wins back to back. In today’s NFL, it’s any given Sunday as much as ever before.

I just don’t think a week 10 loss on the road in a tough environment in this day and age is that bad. Sure we should’ve won, but you’re not going to beat every “bad” team and lose to every “good” team. Shoot Philly almost loss to a hapless Indy team. In fact, that same Indy team beat KC.

It’s a bad loss if you feel like bad teams are always going to play bad. But if you get that teams can play good or bad any given week the GB loss is much more digestible. Especially knowing we didn’t get blown out, we lost in OT. But to each his own.

I like how this team responded today. I'm sure McCarthy was beyond angry about last week and the team really stepped it up. Clearly teams win when you get the ground game going and get the RBs involved in the passing game. They did both today and the defense really didn't have an answer.

The bottom line is we have to start playing consistently December is coming. We need to build off this impressive win today.

LOL.

It was not.

Only in Cowboy land could blowing a 14 point fourth quarter lead be sold as a “good thing”.

I think it hammered home two things:

1) We need to run more than pass, period. No doubts about it. The offense is much more effective when we emphasize the run.

2) The defense needs to truly care about run fits and overall containment. We heard it all week, they needed to refocus on stopping the run and they did so. Pass rush is earned not given.

If the coaches and players truly learned these two lessons then we are in the best position we can be to make a serious run. If we go back to pass happy offense and splash play defense then we are vulnerable.
Hate losing, but if lessons learned, ok

Losing isn’t good in its nature but if you learn a valuable lesson it is. I’ll gladly take a loss like that in order to do right moving forward.

It’s a shame it took that for them to realize that running the ball is the most important part of our O, but it did. If they can stick to this formula moving forward you can definitely point at that loss as a clear breaking point in their reliance on the pass. 46 pass attempts against GB when we ran for 5 a clip is criminal.

Let’s hope it actually sticks.
