March 4
(12:01 AM):Wildcat DE, Bull WR headline first pro days …
The pro day schedule kicked off yesterday with on-campus workouts at Kansas State, Buffalo and Florida International with a solid performance by a K-State defensive linemen, while a UB WR struggled a bit. Meanwhile, the pro day caravan will be busy today with on-campus workouts scheduled at Missouri, Baylor and Syracuse among other schools.

Commanders tender vet QB … Washington has given veteran QB Jason Campbell a first-round tender meaning the Commanders will continue to hold his rights for now, although new head coach Mike Shanahan he has not committed to him to be the team’s starter this fall. By giving Campbell a first-round tender it means that any team can still sign Campbell to an offer sheet, but the Commanders would have a week to match the offer or receive the team's first-round draft pick as compensation. Washington, which has the 4th pick in the 2010 draft, is believed to be at least exploring the possibility of acquiring a young QB - most likely either Sam Bradford of Oklahoma or Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen - with the pick. Tendering Campbell, though, really doesn’t affect what the direction the Commanders are headed at the position as they may simply not want to lose him for nothing if they should draft a young QB, or Washington might like to keep Campbell around for a year to allow a younger guy some developmental time. Meanwhile, LT Chris Samuels is expected to retire later today leaving the Commanders with a big hole on the left side of their offensive line which also likely will have to be addressed early at the draft. Thursday is the final day for NFL teams t tender restricted free agents before free agency kicks off at one minute past midnight Friday morning.
