MICHIGAN STATE
Two dozen NFL teams were represented at the Spartans' pro day. LB Greg Jones attempted to improve on his somewhat disappointing 40 time of 4.75, but really didn't make a dent at the MSU pro day where he ran another couple of 40s in the mid-4.7 range. Menwhile, tweener LB/SS Eric Gordon (5-11.5, 225) put on an athletic show posting a 40.5" VL, which would have been one of the best jumps at the combine at any position. Gordon also had a 10-7 BJ, did 25 reps in the BP and reportedly ran the 40 in the 4.6 range. Hillsdale WR Andre Holmes also stood when the 6-4, 208 pounder ran a couple of 4.5 40s and caught the ball well. One of my pet cats

ILLINOIS
Just about every NFL was at the Illinois pro day including Jets head coach Rex Ryan and defensive co-ordinators Perry Fewell of the Giants and Rod Marinelli of the home-town Bears. They were there to watch Illinois RB Mikel LeShoure, DT Corey Liuget and MLB Martez Wilson each of whom has been considered a potential first-round prospect. All three stood on their test numbers from the combine, but did positional work. And according to sources both Liuget and LeShoure were outstanding in the drills, while Wilson reportedly struggled at times. Liuget in particular drew high praise from the Giants' Fewell for his explosiveness.

LOUISIANA-MONROE
Safety Alex Ibe had a solid performance at the ULM pro day where the 6-2.5, 216 pounder ran a sub-4.5 40, had a 37.5" VL, and a 10-3 BJ, but only did 16 reps in the BP.
FLORIDA STATE
Reps from 28 teams were on hand at the FSU pro day where B Christian Ponder was the featured attraction. And according to early reports Ponder threw the ball very well. Among other former Seminoles who worked out, MLB Kendall Smith (6-1, 244) did not have a particualrly impressive day, running the 40 in 4.85, while posting very slow times in both the short shuttle (4.63) and 3-cone drill (7.53) compared to at the combine. For the record, Smith also managed 22 reps in the BP and a 31" VL. OLB Mister Alexander (6-2, 242) was actually somewhat more athletic running his 40 in 4.65 seconds while registering times of 4.25 in the short shuttle and 7.02 in the 3-cone, both of which would have been among the leaders at the position at the combine. Alexander also had a solid 34" VL, but managed only 15 reps in the BP. C Ryan McMahon (6-1, 297) also tested reasonably well running the 40 in 5.15 seconds while notching 31 reps in the BP, but didn't really pass the eyeball test as he isn't very big and has short (31") arms.
