Avery was inactive for five games this season before he got on the field Sunday in New England.

The Browns’ fifth-round pick in 2018 out of Memphis, Avery asked to be traded, but originally GM John Dorsey wanted to hang onto him, a source told cleveland.com. In the end, he opted to do so.

Avery played three defensive snaps in Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Patriots.
