Never heard of him. Didn't know he was even on the roster. Lol.

Yeah, I thought he had an outside chance, too ... at least better than Szczerba.

Blah. He was a bit of a pet cat of mine.
Same. Thought he'd stick because of his blocking skills and reliable hands.

Broaddus was pretty down on him during OTAs, he liked Szczerba more - although not much more.

Doesn't sound like he's got much of a shot to stick.

Johnathan Gregory "John" Nalbone (born May 14, 1986) is an American football tight end who currently plays for the Seattle Seahawks. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Monmouth.

Nalbone has also been a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals.

Analysis
Positives:
Good size, strength and effort as a blocker. Highly competitive. Surprising athleticism shown in workouts. Catches the ball cleanly and looks to turn it upfield. Can track the ball over his shoulder. Adequate agility to avoid tacklers in the open field, but good strength to run through them.

Negatives: Obvious concerns over his level of competition. Needs to improve his strength to hold up as an inline blocker at the NFL level. Marginal burst out of his breaks to gain separation. Lacks experience in a sophisticated passing offense and will need time to acclimate to a typical route-tree.

From my understanding he was wayyy too slow, and probably couldn't pick up the pass protection/blocking aspect.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at:
Shiancoe
And Donald Lee

During training camp..

We don't know what has gone on behind the scenes here, but there's no question that the 'boys braintrust did not want to take this guy to training camp. Would have to be doing more harm than good with him around.
Could be grossly out of shape, displayed poor work ethic, pissed off his position coach, couldn't tell time -- who knows? But they gave up on him early, even though he's cheap.
His replacement, Nalbone, has already been a spare on 4 other roasters. So that brings up the opposite kind of question -- what do the 'boys see in him? Is it great attitude, good looks, fantastic storyteller, great girlfriend, gourmet cook, a coach's nephew? Is he finally getting over nagging injuries or finally grasping NFL schemes?
There's a story hiding somewhere on both sides of this coin.

George Bryan: 5.03 forty, 13 bench
If you're a TE that can't break 5.0 in the forty, then you probably need to be stronger than 13 reps on the bench.
