Anyone in the Metroplex going to his show?

I bet it will be great. He really is one of the best country singers ever.

I went to watch him at the at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the concert was pretty good, music was excellent. I like a more animated show but it was still good. I would go see him again if I could.

I've never seen him & guess that opportunity has passed but he's one of my favorite country artists.

I kind of like that he is what he is & that is just straight country.

So much "country" today is really more pop.

This is so true. I stopped listening to a lot of country a while ago, but Brantley Gilbert's song "Bottom's Up" is pretty good.

I have two tickets for the show, but we're trying to figure out if we want to go, or sell them.

Yeah, they are going for about 5-10x what I bought mine for. It's hard to pass up that kind of profit.

That would be very difficult to pass up. If I lived there I'd go. I really love his music. One of my favs.

I wonder if it's a PPV?

I've seen George Strait many times in concert. No show I would rather see to be honest. I took my Son to see him for his Birthday one year and they were literally dancing in the isles.

I would recommend it to anybody.

Last of a dying breed. Country sucks now a days. Whoever started implementing all the pop and rap into the songs needs to be shot.

Yep. Even though I'm in my 20's I like the old classic country. The newer artists are just pop singers with a Southern accent.

I'd rather listen to George. I listen to Johnny Cash a lot too.

I think it runs in cycles (at least I hope it does). I remember years back when Country was George Jones and Lorretta Lynn etc., a new sound came into Country Music and people said the same kinds of things. Eddie Rabbit, Anne Murray, Barbra Mandrell, folks like that, were making music that was not traditional Country. It went like that for awhile but then in the Early 80s, George Strait came onto the scene and started getting back to what Country Music used to sound like. Garth Brooks showed up in the late 80s and a real golden age for Country Music arrived. Country Music took hold in the mainstream and it stayed till maybe 2005 or so. About that time, it started to change again and you had Kieth Urban, acts with a different sound start producing hits. The sound changed and we are still on that path. I think it will change back the other way eventually because Country Music does not forget their roots. Somebody is going to come along with a more traditional sound and the audiences will be ready for something different and that's when you will see it.

You may have to get a little older before you hear it unfortunately but you will hear it again.

From someone that listens to Keith Whitley, Ronnie Milsap, George Jones etc. i can tell you that George Strait cannot sing. He has alot of good songs though, and the cowboy image helped him go a long way.
