I know losing to the skins is bad; but it is ONE GAME. A game that we dominated. We just did not close it out. We have a young team and that is what they need to learn. BP and Zimmer made a couple of mistakes. Flo got caught holding at the worst possible time. Bledsoe missed a couple of open guys. Crayton dropped a critical pass- THE PASS- but in his defense he got totaled.
Glenn was the hero last week, but never should have been the primary on Moss.
BP should have run JJ 3 straight when trying to run out the clock. JJ should have been in on after the INT. And so on. Just as most things went right last week, so did it this week- but this time they made the big play and we did not.
With all the emotion and distractions of this particular event, there is just no way to compare to the rest of the season.
PEOPLE- there are 14 games LEFT. MOST of them quite winnable.

We don't have a young team. we have a young defense, a veteran offense, and a crappy kicking game.

The opportunities were there on offense to put the Commanders away early. I think it was the playcalling that was to blame, but maybe Bledsoe (who hates throwing the short pass) changed his MO last night.

You've Got the right attitude, and you're correct -- you'll bounce back! But all
of the games are "winnable" -- especially that one last night!

Bill has to get busy to correct the breakdown in strategy ...

Possible Areas:
stronger defense ...or
more offensive points ...or
more different blitz packages ... or
less emphasis on running out the clock ...or
whatever

I totally agree that as excruciatingly painful as this game was, it remains a single game and I don't think it guarantees doom anymore than last week guaranteed glory. Don't over-dramatize this. Glad we get to play again in 5 days.

btw - I don't think this loss was because we failed to run out the clock. I want us to be prudent but not go into a shell. Realistically, the way the Skins were stopping the run and knowing we would try to run out the clock I liked the balanced play-calling.

The biggest mistake (outside of the obvious long TD's) was our failure to capitalize on Tyson's KO return.

Yep, I agree about getting to play another game in 5 days.

I hope the Cowboys are as pissed as I am and take it out on the 49ers.
