whoever gets hired to be the next HC hopefully will bring back the swagger this franchise has been missing since the Jimmy days.
Whether it comes directly from the HC(like Jimmy) or just because the team knows how good they are because of the coaching and scheme(like the Landry days)
As a true Dallas Cowboys fan I miss that the most, besides winning Super Bowls.
That swagger, that cockiness if you will. That certain attitude that only the Cowboys had. That "IT" that no matter what our record was at the time made every opposing team bring their "A" game because they want to beat America's Team. And that swagger would grow everytime we beat those teams.
From "Hollywood" Henderson to Butch Johnson doing his "six shooter" dance everytime he scored. From the confidence the "Playmaker" brought to the arrogance of "Prime Time". From the intimidation factor Haley brought to the table to Jimmy saying "we will win the game".
The swagger that was the reason why half the world cheered for the Cowboys while the other half despised America's Team.
The Cowboys seem to have lost that swagger after the red birds beat us in the playoffs some 10 yrs ago(10 right?) and haven't seem to have got back yet.
Even though I favor 2 HC canidates, Singletary and Rivera, as the ones who can bring back that swagger. As a true Cowboys fan I will support the next HC whoever it is. Even though Parcells was the only HC hire I was in favor of since Jimmy left, I still cheered on my 'Boys no matter who was the HC. Heck, even when Jimmy was hired I was like "what in the blue hell is goin' on here? This is the NFL, not the NCAA." But I still cheered and thankfully was proven wrong by the man Jerry Jones hired as HC back in '89.
Make no mistake, whoever becomes the next HC for the Dallas Cowboys definetly has very big shoes to fill. But everybody try to calm down a little. Let Mr Jones take as much time as he needs. And let's all pray that he "gets it right" and brings in a HC that will bring back that swagger while not taking any crap from anybody on the roster, just like he did in '89.
