That's actually a cool interview.
Kid Rock has awful music, but he's a really good guy. The $20 tickets/$4 beer tour he did was awesome. And then there's the birthday party for the guy with Downs that circulated a few years back. It makes me actually tolerate his **** music and kind of like him now.
Bonus points, by the way, for this interview. I'd always catch myself singing Gimmie Back My Bullets to Cowboy, and never realized it was intentional. Kinda cool that he borrowed that there, too, after the All Summer Long thing.
Kid Rock is really awful music, indeed. All of it. I guess that Sheryl Crow gig he did was listen'able, but that was borderline and that was it.
His southern rap that speaks of nothing other than how great he and his life is is nasty. Shallow and lazy lyrics/writing. Makes my ears bleed. His country is worse. Makes my eyes and ears bleed. He's Nickleback or Creed without the self-awareness of what a joke he is to true audiophiles.
And his Lynyrd Skynyrd wanna be content. Just smash me in the face with a hammer. Skynyrd and Kid Rock should never be uttered in the same sentence, yet it is so very often. Sad.
And his name.
Kid Rock.
I'm sorry, I know this a thread to celebrate him, and I've tried my damnedest to hold back, but I had to say this.
Kid Rock is trash. Lots of bands offer cheap brew. Especially in the NY indie scene. If that's what makes this guy "for the people"
Gah!
