1st quarter - 3rd and 2: Newman playing 5 yd off WR:confused: . His WR catches catches 5 yd pass for 1st down. I knew exactly where Manning was going even before the play.

2nd quarter - 3rd and 4: Newman burned again. Toast.:lmao:

2nd quarter - around 6:50 mark - Newman burned for 8 yd gain.

2nd quarter - Newman burned by Garcon for TD. Garcon schooled the vet Newman. :lmao2: Newman returned to lockerroom to put his jock back on.

4th quarter (I think) - 3rd and 12: Newman makes tackle after 1st down. Not sure if it was Newman's man or zone.

There you have it. Did Newman even touch the football yesterday? Did I miss a pass he defensed? I want to be fair to him. He SUCKS!

But, he was better than Jenkins yesterday.:bang2: Although, at least Jenkins knocked a ball down on one play to Wayne and tipped another for an INT.

Newman didn't have one of his best games of the year but this secondary in general has sucked but they are creating more turnovers now with Paul P. in charge of the defense.

why, exactly, is that funny?
he's a troll. it's his way of expressing himself.

That was McCann's man. Newman was helping on the play.

He did have a bad game but Jenkins was worse until the tip for an int.

You seem to be very happy that Newman isn't playing very well..

Why? I just don't get it. :confused::lmao2::bow::p:;):D:lmao::laugh2::laugh1::(:eek::

After what Mike Jenkins gave up yesterday, we get posts about Newman being "burned for an 8 yard gain"?

What did Newman allow yesterday -- maybe 40-45 yards total? Out of 48 pass attempts by Peyton Manning? That is excellent.

1st quarter - 3rd and 2: Newman playing 5 yd off WR .

Newman doesn't call the coverages. We walked Sensabaugh up into the box (it was third-and-2), left Ball as the single deep safety and played Newman and Jenkins off the ball. Newman was 6 yards off the line, and Jenkins was 6.5. Players can't just do whatever they want, you know. They have to do their assignment, the most basic aspect of which is lining up correctly.

2nd quarter - around 6:50 mark - Newman burned for 8 yd gain.

Hardly. It was zone coverage, and the pass was thrown under the zones (3 yards downfield) and between the outside and inside zones.

Not sure? How can you not be sure whose man it was that made the catch? It was press man coverage -- it doesn't get more obvious than that. Newman's receiver ran deep. White, the guy who caught the ball, was being covered by McCann out of the slot. He ran an out, beat McCann for the catch, and Newman came up and made the tackle. It doesn't get any easier to diagnose the coverage than on that play. It's no wonder you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to secondary play.

He's right! Why this team does not go out and get Revis and Nnamdi is beyond me.

Revis just signed a contract with the Jets.

The Mike Jenkins blooper videos from Sunday would take 2 hours and 45 minutes. The only way he could prevent a pass from being completed on him was if the receiver ran the wrong route.

Newman did not, and has not been playing "excellent". Almost every ball thrown his way gets completed if its on target. You can say that's just playing safe or playing within the zone but it can't continue to happen if we expect to be successful. Newman is not playing good football.

Now with all our CB's having trouble in coverage, i'd say its pretty fair to wonder how they would do with an actual pass rush on this team. We arn't going to be successful without a better pass rush. Guys can't cover forever.

Dude, you're delirious. Excellent??? Describing Newman's effort yesterday as excellent is beyond ridiculous.

I wonder if Jenkins is gonna give up 1000 yards on the season.

Almost all of Reggie Wayne's 200 yards receiving was on Jenkins. Jenkins would let Wayne have 8 yards of cushion and still let Wayne behind him.

Anyone who thinks Newman was the problem CB on the field on Sunday was not watching the game. Peyton Manning was playing pitch and catch on Jenkins at will.

Why do people get giddy when players, on the team they root for, have an off game?

I always wonder just how in the world the product of this team keeps happening. We have literally stocked draft after draft after draft 1st round (prior to 2009 and 2010) drafting for defense. O-line busts out all too often and prior to 2010 we haven't drafted a WR in the first round in FOREVER.

Yet the offense is the unit that keeps carrying the team year after year, and the defense is what is consistently being a let down especially against the pass.
