I literally do not understand how those commercials are supposed to make me want to get Direct TV. A weird rich Russian is the sales hook? His bizarre infatuation with a miniature giraffe is?

I often do not get the point behind commercials and those are some of the worst. The only redeeming qualities are the pretty women.

I haven't eaten at Burger King since they started having utterly stupid commercials about creepy voyeuristic mannequin Kings and burger families. How is that supposed to make me want a hamburger? At least Ronald McDonald showed the food. It sucked, but you wanted it because you could see it.

Maybe you can explain to me the NFL Network commercial with the women toss the jerseys back at their "boyfriends." What's that supposed to represent?

Ha ha! I just showed the "Giraffe Cam" to a server at Buffalo Wild Wings (a blonde chick, of course), and she totally believed the little guy was real..."How big do they get?" lol

I didn't even remember which product was being promoted in those ads until reading through this thread. It obviously hasn't prompted me to buy DirectTV. I like the commercials. I hope they stop making them though. Too many times ad companies go too far and the next thing you know ABC is making a sitcom about stupid cavemen.
