Finally we'll have some football to see from our Cowboys. No more waiting, June 1st starts our first day of OTA's. What are you looking to see from this team, and the coaches during this period? Clearly a lot of will be looking at the defense as it's taken over a nice overhaul this offseason. This defense has a new DC, and it has a number of outside free agents, to go with the 2026 draft picks we've made on defense. Our offense lead by Dak Prescott i'm hoping to see his development with the other WR's besides Pickens and Lamb.

My biggest concern going into OTA's is that we stay healthy during this period. We've seen a player or two around the league go out with ACL injuries already. I'm glad to have something to see from the Cowboys, this will be interesting! Please give your input!!

Answer: zero or minimal long-term injuries.

Evaluating what basically amounts to flag football practice provides only so much insight. Personally, I am waiting for the preseason games to get an inkling of what this year's team might do.

Preseason football what are you really evaluating by being to afraid to put out your starters (understandable) but I think it's a way to get some continuity going. As far as they young guys, you're looking to see what you have for depth purposes. OTA's can show you a little, we can see possible lineups and who will be on the field together in certain packages. I really want to see what the defense is doing!

not wanting injuries is silly, thats going to happen.

lets look for chemistry this is more about the coaches. can the coaches get the systems through to players and who can adapt. I dont care your talent if you dont apply it. We need all the units firing off on all cyclinders, thats a problem Garrett had, when they did, the team was unbeatable, but when 1 unit slipped, he faltered. BS has got to show more in OTAs than the players. We have to start the chemistry, players trusting and players understanding their jobs. I need more out of the coaches than the players. Dak is always Dak, but the defense is going through a huge change, i want to see what the ST coach brings and if the offense is going rely more on the stars or get more out of the TEs? lots to see if you look for the correct things.

Nothing wrong, with not wanting injuries,
That doesn’t mean we don’t realize they’re going to happen
It just means we hope they don’t,

I hope this doesn't include the stuff they did during practice all the dancing and music blasting throwing money around

..yeah, you can say NFL 26' starts June 1st. Gonna be interesting for us.

So many new faces. With that the excitement of hope we can get over the hump.

I am very interessted in how those edge players and LBs will be used. Not this 3-4 defense we will sport maybe 10% of the time.

No, how Parker will use especially those players in the majority of lineups: nickle and dimes or how you want to call that defense. To see and understand what his vision of his defense is.

To see how all the new players on defense grasp the new schemes. With all the new players and coaches.

How they all interact together to learn. And to improve. It will be a learning curve for all of them.

We will get this player looks great, that player looks great. How they are picking up things right away. The typical stuff. And there is nothing wrong with that. Need to take the coaches at their word.

It is to instill some of the basics and what is expected of them. For when they get to TC. They will be familiar with most of the playbook. So no big surprises at TC.

Totally agree, why do you only think 10% of the time????

All this talk of trading for a guy like sweat, would he really be good in a 3-4

Love this post!!!!!

What will be interesting is seeing what CP does with the holdover players.

One has to remember that running around in shorts is not full contact practice and certainly not a game.

The schemes and personnel combinations and usage is the news that OTA's will generate

they will almost certainly not really indicate what is going to happen when hitting starts.

Unless of course someone looks completely lost, etc

Because in the modern NFL base defenses are only paper tigers. 4-3, 3-4. Those setups are used only 10%-20% of the defensive snaps.

With the rule changes that favor the offense so much more, 3 WR sets defenses play nickle, dime, 1 (maybe 2) LBs max. on the field most of the time. Hybrid safties/Lbs are used often (see Quinns defense). Thats the "base" defense most good defensive teams are using. And thats what Parker will apply (well from what i have read).
