Giants ticket holders selling chance to see Brady, Patriots go 16-0
Associated Press

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The chance to watch the Giants try to mar the Patriots perfect season isn't drawing many Big Blue fans to the stadium this Saturday.

Many New York Giants fans are selling their tickets to the game to New England Patriots fans who want to see quarterback Tom Brady and his teammates go for a 16-0 record in their final regular-season game.

Internet auction sites that allow customers to buy and sell sports tickets have seen a surge in ticket sales for the game by Giants fans, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported for Tuesday's newspapers.

"It looks like it's on pace to be one of our top 25 events for all time. It's definitely one of our hot sellers," Joellen Ferrer, a spokesman for Internet auction site StubHub, which specializes in tickets for events, told the newspaper. "Although it's meaningless to the Giants, it's still going to be a great game to watch."

In the first 24 hours after the Giants beat the Bills, more than 200 Giants ticket holders put their seats up for bid on the auction site, eBay.

As of Monday, about 3,000 tickets were available for purchase on StubHub

Tickets on StubHub have gone for as much as $1,600 apiece, Ferrer said.

If the Patriots win, they would become the first NFL team to go undefeated during the regular season since the Miami Dolphins finished the 1972 season with a 14-0 record.

Eh, they are selling tickets to a game that the Giants are going to lose and doesn't really mean anything. Not to mention that the tickets are probably going to sell for a premium. I understand the idea of supporting your team always and stuff, but season ticket holders sell stuff all the time, I don't see the disgrace here.

Having said that, they are still dirtballs :starspin:

Options ..

1.) Go to a game where my starters are likely to rest, meaning I am going to watch my team get blown out.

2.) Sell them to a Pats fan and likely make anywhere from 3-5 times face value.

Tough choice.

Werent there a TON of boys fans who sold their tickets to the GB game for prices out of this world?

And that game was very important.

:D We even had a fan on here who acted like that strandedcowboy troll was not a troll, and was being merely objective, while the rest of us jumped on him for it. :lmao:

Some talking head said the other night that the NYFG do not need to play this game. He said it was not for them to beat the Patriots. He went about there have been 15 teams so far who's job it was to beat the Pats and the did not do it. The Giants don't need to prove anything.

He said that the Giants should rest everyone and wait for the playoffs. I know as a fan if I paid my money to see this game then I would want the team to be playing all out. Here you have the opportunity to knock off the Pats and you fold up like a lawn chair? I guess it's to be expected. This is the Giants we are talking about. They talk a big game on and off the field. When it is finally go time - the excuses come out.

I wish they would take the cost of each ticket in that entire stadium and dump it out in cash on a table. I then would want the team to come in and see it. I would then ask "Is this enough money for you to play for these fans?"

Sure would go a long way w/ me seeing how much money the fans put into the game.

Athletes always forget the fans. It's sad. They only see the fans as a small part of the game.

The Fans are the game. The fans are WHY you play. The fans are the ones who ALLOW you to do what you do.

I get sick of teams half assing games this late. IF you are going to do that then you should refund each and every ticket to the fan and forfeit the entire thing. Why bother showing up?

Not saying I'm rooting for this, but how great will the Patriots look if they win this game to make history but lose a key player to injury (i.e. Brady or Moss) in essentially a meaningless game?

Though, not sure how much chance there is of that - outside of Roosevely Colvin, they have been very fortunate.

It's not like franchises give discounts to their most loyal fans.

The NFL wishes to maximize its own profits. Why is it disloyal for fans to try to do the same?

Given what tickets cost these days - if you can sell one game ticket to pay for tickets to several other games, I certainly can understand it.

Yhea, I think they have been pretty fortunate with the injury situation to their starters at least this year.

I'm shocked when teams fans sell out thousands of tickets to opposing teams fans.
