This just in, Eli Manning is the real deal. :banghead:

didnt look like it most of the game...

kinda looks like the injuries and the lack of offense in the 2nd half just caught up with Philly more than the Giants doing anything good

Not that I'm happy about it, being a division rival, but to see Eli Manning play through the beating he took today was quite impressive.

And the Eagle loss? Always nice to see.

In all honesty, that TD pass to Burress was a no-brainer. Eli really didn't have to do much with it other than to hang it up there and let Plax make a play on the ball. He had one-on-one coverage. He had the height advantage by 6 inches. The Egirls blitzed the entire kitchen.

That last play was all Plax.

Even Manning stated that he just threw it up and hoped that his 6' 6" receiver would grab it.

And so did I. That will probably be the second happiest moment for me today, I hope.

hopefully this loss will devastate the Eagles whole season...we had a similar loss in week 2 at home last yr...totally dominated a game...failed to put them away and end up choking away the "W"

Okay, I give up. Manning stinks. A 3 score 4th quarter had nothing to do with him at all. Giants will be 3-13 this year. *sigh*

Came back from a 24-7 deficit in the 4th. 31/43, 371 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT. A lot of hate for this kid, so much so that people actually had the stones to post Henson vs. Manning threads at one time, but ya gotta give him props when he deserves it. The Giants have a franchise QB. Us and the Skins are the only ones missing one now.

Don't get me wrong... he's a servicable to decent player RIGHT NOW. He's just not nearly as good as everyone on TV would have us think. I'm not gonna give him props for throwing a jump ball in the face of an all out blitz. I could do that. I'll give him credit for hanging in there after being sacked 8 times or whatever, but his pocket presence is awful and he's still pretty innacurate.

I agree, he's probably a franchise QB for them, but that doesn't mean he's gonna do anything while he's there (i.e. win the big one). Not as long as he's as inconsistent as he looked today.

Not only that ... it was SEVERELY underthrown off his back foot.... he shoul give Plax a BJ for that one....

anyway... how is it no one wanted Burress?

That tends to happen when a QB has a blitzing DL or LB'er in his face.

Burress kept his eye on the ball and the defender never looked up.

overall, Manning had a pretty good game, and a nice comeback. However, he still has some pretty bad accuracy issues a lot of times, and I'm not sure that's something that will ever get better.

Heh. That's what a QB must do in the face of that blitz. There are still quite a few out there that don't.

No names please. ;)

Manning also still has zero pocket precense, about 2 or 3 sacks were his fault

Oh ok.

Does that mean the Skins will be division champs then since you already think BP should be canned, Zimmer sucks and the QB here hasnt had a good game in forever?

Franchise QB's don't have to be super accurate...there are guys who are and there are guys who can get hot and carry a team on their backs or have a penchant for 4th quarter comeback wins...I think Eli falls into that last category. He hasn't won anything yet, but it would be silly for me to put him down when I'd trade all of our QB's for him right now.

Though I'm sure some homer will say he'd rather have Romo....:lmao:

I have issues with Eli as well, but I will take 72 percent all day. That's a tough defense in a tough venue to go against.
