Has anyone reviewed the film to see how often the Giants put 8 in the box?

In some threads, people are saying the Giants stacked the box just like teams did last year.

In other threads, people are saying the 2 Giants safeties were playing extremely far back to avoid the pass over the top.

So, unless the Giants played with 12 defenders all night, which was it?

I believe the All-22 film doesn't come out until Tuesday at the earliest. (actually, All-22 might be even later than that, I think NFL Rewind broadcast footage is Tuesday)

It's been a while since I've reviewed All-22 footage.

not sure why you need the All-22 for this. The "box" is visible on TV coverage.

I noticed it a lot. And they kept cheating a safety over top of Dez. Probably why we saw so many passes to RBs and Witten.

When Dez came out they pulled their safeties in closer. I was watching much of the game.
They had two ultra deep safeties in the 1st half.

You'll notice we began throwing it slightly deeper in the second half, btw.

Exactly...............in the first half the Giants had both safeties deep and when Dez left the game, the safeties were moved up closer to the LOS.

They obviously feared Dez way more than any of our RBs.

I have to watch again. I thought they played off even with Dez out of the game. At least early when he was out for hydration. And it hurt them late on the passes to Dunbar, too, right?

Reading a defense is hard. Anytime a team shows a single high safety loo, isn't "stacking the box" and its hard to tell the difference unless you really watch the coverages develop on each play.

I suspect they played more cover 3 all night than brought a safety down to shut down a less than stellar running game.
