EAST RUTHERFORD -- Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell said Wednesday after reviewing the film, he believes the Giants' defense tried to injure him late in Sunday's 24-14 Steeler win in Pittsburgh.

Right after the two-minute warning, Bell had a 2-yard run. Cornerback Eli Apple and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins combined to tackle Bell, who landed somewhat awkwardly with his left leg tucked under his body, but with both knees down and his torso upright.

Linebackers Devon Kennard and Kelvin Sheppard then made contact with Bell high, and began driving him down, twisting Bell. Sheppard's hands also appeared to be under Bell's facemask, twisting Bell's neck.

Steelers lineman Ramon Foster then threw Sheppard out of the pile. Foster appeared to make some contact with his knee to Sheppard's side, but it was not a clear kick. There was then some pushing and shoving between the teams, but no flags were thrown....

Reminds me of some of the cheap shots post play that these lowlifes have taken at Tony.

Yeah, I saw that when it happened. Wondered why the announcers didn't make a bigger deal of the obvious attempt at injury. I honestly thought the defender was trying to break his neck at the time. After watching the vid, I'm sure of it. Jeeze fellas, it's just a game. Take the L and go home.

Kelvin Sheppard needs to be sat down for a while. At least a game. Maybe two.

They try that **** on Zeke and Fred will lose it and tear them a new one.

I fear we will pay 10-fold for the non hands to the face call that didn't affect the terrible pass.
Me too. It reminds me of the 2014 Lions playoff game and even thought the eventual call on Hitchens was the right one, all the media could talk about was how the referees favored Dallas in that game. TMZ even showed Dean Blandino getting off the Jones party bus. It came back to kill us when Blandino made an inexplicably bad overturn of the Dez catch just to prove that the officials didn't favor Dallas.

I worry that with the NFL ratings down this year that they may try to make every game closer that it should be (see Vikings and last Commanders game) or even go so far as to try to get us in as wild card team instead (one more Cowboy's game for ratings). I hate feeling like this, but the timing of the flags against our offense last Thursday seemed almost too obvious.

If they want to place blame for that one, they can start with the referee who missed the call.

I think the officiating we've had has been bad since Thanksgiving Day. Poor calls and missed calls all over the place!

I read that Ramon Foster was being fined, but I haven't seen anything about Sheppard receiving one.

It's possible that they were trying to injure them but I don't know if I believe they really were.

The officiating has been atrocious. They miss this or Norman trying to intentionally hurt Dez but will call a Pass Interference on a guy for touching a receiver. But we just see too many of these plays like this and it's embarrassing. I know there's going to be mistakes but they will throw the flag 20 times a game on ridiculous holding penalties and be absolutely blind when a player is getting his head ripped off.
