Giants fired defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan.
Despite a slew of premium offseason pickups (Chris Canty, Clint Sintim, Mike Boley, Rocky Bernard, etc.), the Giants' defense regressed badly under Sheridan. Only the Rams and Lions gave up more points per game, and New York ranked 18th in sacks after finishing first and sixth in 2007 and 2008 under Steve Spagnuolo. Sheridan was promoted from LBs coach before the season. The Giants figure to look outside the organization for a replacement this time around. Jan. 4 - 5:36 pm et

I would think Dick Jauron would be a candidate, considering he was Coughlin's DC in Jacksonville for a few years (including the year they went to the AFCC).

Nah Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey, GOOOOOOOODBYEEEEEEE

I wonder if the Rams plan on making a head coaching change? :D

You could be right. Jauron sounds like the logical choice for their new DC.

While he is a step back from Steve Spagnuolo, I don't completely lay it on his head. I mean, the Giants defense was decimated by injuries and the lack of ability to recover from them. (Osi).

I would bet on that happening.

He's already got Chris Palmer on the staff. Might as well get the band back together.

That's the way I saw it. Plus, a major loss from Strahan, leaving them thinking that they would still be alright. Offense didn't exactly play well, when the season was on the line either.
