After shutting down the 'Skins and 49ers, they are still ranked 25th in total yardage. I'm still wondering why they are being placed up there with Carolina in the NFC? Any others wondering why also?

It does the NFL well if they are highly rated.
Young QB.
Storied franchise.
Owner just kicked it.
And on.....

Hype and a good story because of Wellington Mara. Let them enjoy their moment for now. We have to worry about beating Philadephia; we are carrying a shotgun into a wounded animal's den.

NY has had an easy schedule thus far and hasn't been exposed yet.

hyping a NY team (ie saints "home" game in the Meadowlands - LOL) is good for business.

promoting name brand young QBs is good for biz.

wait a few weeks and the gints bandwagon will have alot of open seats ;)

I think Eli is pretty good, but he's WAY overrated right now. He seems to be afraid of being hit and winds up backpedaling and throwing off his back foot a lot. Every time he's played a decent defense, he hasn't done very well.

I know in yesterdays game he was lucky not to have 3 passes picked that hit defenders right in the hands. Personally I like Eli and think he is going to be a very good QB but right now I still see a guy that you can force him into mistakes.

Actually he has been pretty inaccurate, even by his stats alone. Really from what I have seen, he makes like half a dozen good decisions or throws a game, and that mostly end up winning the game for them.

And seems like team rally's around him, which is a sign of him being a good leader. But yeah, from what I have seen, he is way overrated as a passer this season. He might end up being like his Brother in future, as a passer, but he is nowhere near where Peyton is, even comparing his brother's second seaoson to his second season.

For the record, I thought and still think Eli will be real deal in future. But then I was sure of Leftwitch too. I have been reverse my thinking on LEftwitch lately. Personally I thought Eli was No. 1 prospect last year at QB and second was Ben. Liked Phillip Rivers but really thought Draft time, he was way overhyped, because of his win/loss percentage in college. Like Danny Wuerfull etc. didn't teach NFL teams some lessons about College Records. I thought Phillip should have been late first round pick and not that high pick. We shall see about Phillip I guess in future.

But anyway onto current topic, Eli's second half will show where he is, especially December is the money time. How he plays that month decides how far he has come this season.

Eli seems to make the right choice at the critical stage of the game, your right about inaccuracy but he seems to make the throw when needed for the most part. Also he has only started 15 games, less than a season. Given that I think a lot of the credit he is getting is justified and I think he will only get better with experience.

for lack of better terms....DURRRRR

he only completes like 52% of his passes and does nothing against good teams. if only the gints had a tough schedule they would be garbage

I watch almost eveyr Giants game, being in NJ, and Eli has been somewhat average the last 3 or so games, IMO. Admittedly, he was lights out in the beginning of the season. Anyway, the last few games, he's made some terrible passes on easy looks. I've seen a couple where the Giants WR's have turned around, squared up, and showed Eli their numbers, and he's just flat out missed them. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just stating what I see. Obviously Eli is going to be a very good QB, and is pretty good as it is right now. I just don't think he and the defense are quite ready to put this team in the Super Bowl.

As for the defense, it's really not bad as some on here want to believe, and I was saying that the week of the Giants/Cowboys game. It's certainly not the same defense we're used to seeing out of the Giants, but it's not the worst either. As we saw first hand, while they do give up some yards, they are very opportunistic and the defense can make plays. Their defensive line, in particular, is very dangerous. Like I said, though, I just don't think this unit is good enough to bring them to the SUper Bowl.

That's complete bull-crap! Go back and watch the last Dallas-Giants game again; we whiped their defense up and down the field. We moved the ball at will on them. If not for us making stupid mistakes we would have blown them out like we did Philly. Watch the game - the only time the Ginats quote-unquote "stoppoed us" ( ) was when we stopped us. All the anouncers kept saying how Dallas was lucky to win the game in overtime. Bull-crap! If anything the Giants were lucky we didn't blow them out. Their defense is putrid and I'm looking forward to the Cowboys exposing it again in due time.

Yeah.. I mean they are in first place in the division, but we did beat them and it would not have even been close if you take away a couple of mistakes/turnovers.

If you look at the game stats I think Dallas had 3 turnovers in the first half and still only gaveup 57 yards and 6 points. Dallas also missed 2 field goals. The Giants were 1-11 on third down..for the whole game. Barber only had like 64 yards. A.Thomas was our starting RB..JJ was out.. Barber was just coming back. When they scored in the first half, they got the ball on the Dal 39 and Dal 32..resulting in a 50 yard FG and 45 yard FG. First drive of the thrid qtr, they gave the ball to the Giants on the Dal 31..Henry intercepted to get it back.

Dallas pretty much gave them every opportunity to blow the game wide open in the first 3 quarters, before the Henry interception. Eli made some plays at the end, but there is no doubt in my mind that Dallas was the better team that day and still is the better team.

Eli makes throws when it really counts so far, but he misses WAY too many when it doesn't. If you don't make more of THOSE throws, then you are always coming from behind. And THAT is not a recipe for success.
