I was just having this conversation with a co worker yesterday on how I thought both of these teams would be pushing to get him.

Not what I wanted to see this on rotoworld this morning.

ESPN's John Clayton calls the Eagles and the Giants the front-runners to acquire Anquan Boldin via offseason trade.

Philadelphia is reportedly the current favorite. Clayton believes Boldin's trade demand will be met, which would be big news for Steve Breaston dynasty owners. The compensation is expected to be a first- and third-round pick. Philly has two first-rounders (Nos. 21, 28). New York drafts 29th overall.

I'm not shocked that these are two of the front runners and I've been figuring that if he gets moved it would be probably Philly, if they're willing to take on another star WR who has issues with his mouth. I also wouldn't be shocked, at all, to see the Skins become players in this before it's all said and done.

Don't forget that Houshmenzedah is a real possibility to Philly as well. That's a guy we don't want to face twice a year either.

I think the Eagles have some significant choices to make:

1) Keep the team together and add to it to make one more run at a championship.

This would mean re-signing Tra Thomas, Johns Runyan, and Brian Dawkins and working out some sort of deal with McNabb.

Then adding Boldin would make them a favorite to win the NFC.

2) Blow it all up and start building for the future.

That means letting Thomas, Dawkins and Runyan go, trading McNabb to a team like Minnesota or Chicago and picking up another #1 draft pick. At that point, they'd probably be best served to trade Brian Westbrook as well for even more picks.

That would be a gutsy call and you'd undoubtedly get some backlash, but that many high draft choices could go a long way toward quickly rebuilding the team for the future.

Most NFL teams are conservative by nature so I expect the team to go with option 1 and try to load up for one more run.

If they're smart, they'd gladly give Arizona the 1st and 3rd round picks for Boldin. I think he'd be the perfect fit for their West Coast offense.

That said, I hope they get cheap and screw it up!

The Eagles are going to end up with either Boldin or TJ. That's a given. If I had my way I would rather see them throw a boat load of draft picks at Arizona for Boldin then walk away with TJ and both 1st rounders as well.

I'd rather they got TJ because he's older and wouldn't be around to kick our cans as long as Boldin could be.

At least I'm pretty sure that Boldin is a couple of years younger than TJ anyway.

Philly is to cheap and stupid to pick up Boldin and the Giants will wait for Plexi-glass...

nothings a given. Boldin and Tj could decide they would rather go to a team with a young good qb like denver/san diego/miami the list goes on

It'll probably be Philly because the giants already have enough problems with Plexi.

Jeez why can't the good players ever stay out of the NFC East unless they want to play for the Cowboys

Housh didn't do anything against us this year.

I bet everyone though adding Roy Williams to our team would be unstoppable. If Boldin goes to Philly, he could be a complete bust trying to work with Mcnabb, or it could a huge success. We don't know. He's also been very injury prone his whole career, so thats also another possibility. I wouldn't be scared if Philly got Boldin until they are performing well...until then I could care less who they got.

I wonder why the Bucs aren't mentioned? He'd be the #1 receiver here in Tampa. Boldin and Bryant would be a pretty good combo.

I hope they sign him to a 10 yr, 100 million contract

Hoozeyamomma scares me zero, especially with the CB's and pass rush we have.

Well, we did offer two #1s for Chad Johnson.:bang2:
The day they declined that offer was the dumbest thing the Bengals have done in years, and that's saying a lot.
