NGT: Cowboys : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:10 AM
This probably isn't much news but Tony Romo went the entire preseason game for the Cowboys. He played really well. He was 12/25 for 235 and a TD.
Follow up comments...

Parcells looks old... : Chris in Philly : 8/13/06 1:10 AM
.

I shouldn't say really well with a less than : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:11 AM
50 percent completion percentage but he still played well.

12/25 : JoeyBigBlue : 8/13/06 1:11 AM
is impressive in a preseason game???? Not quite but he's probably better than our backups.

yeah : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:12 AM
I might be a little jealous.

Romo : Toth029 : 8/13/06 1:17 AM
Did better than that...
He was actually 19/25, TD, no INT's

Joey : Toth029 : 8/13/06 1:18 AM
I wouldn't say he's better than our backups. He's got little experience in the starting role, and he was playing against most of the Seattle scrubs.

Oh : Toth029 : 8/13/06 1:19 AM
And two fumbles.

Toth029 : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:19 AM
he had to have. 12/25 didn't seem right. I saw it on the NFL Network. They were updating it as it was going and I saw it as soon as it ended.

Henson : JoeMP2003 : 8/13/06 1:21 AM
is a bust in 2 sports. He's revolutionized busting.

Toth029 : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:21 AM
He did have two fumbles? They didn't mention that. I really like the fact that he didn't throw an interception but a fumble is just as bad. That isn't good. Maybe Dallas in in just as bad shape as us in reguard to our back up QB. At least our starter is much better. :)

He had himself an Eli Manning game : StealingSociety : 8/13/06 1:21 AM
Lots of yards, TD, and 50% completion rating lol.

JoeMP2003 : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:22 AM
Is three a charm? His next step looks like he is headed into the porno industry.

Its just pre season : JoeMP2003 : 8/13/06 1:22 AM
but Dallas run blocking, which was an issue last year and figures to be even more of one this year without Allen, didnt look good. That defense is going to be damn good once again

StealingSociety : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:23 AM
lol but Toth might have had it right with 19/25.

JoeMP2003 : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:24 AM
I don't think Jones broke twenty yards. I don't know how much he played though. I really like what I saw out of Barber III last year. He doesn't look like anything special but the guy does all the little things you look for in a player and he was only a rookie.

robbie, well then he's better than Eli, obviously... : StealingSociety : 8/13/06 1:36 AM
.

StealingSociety : robbieballs2003 : 8/13/06 1:40 AM
lol.

Romo had a good game... : rnargi : 8/13/06 1:43 AM
he was 12 for 15 in the first half, and one of them was dropped. He also completed 12 passes in a row overall.

Any other insights from the Dallas game? : SGMen : 8/13/06 1:52 AM
Any injuries or excellent play or poor play from other players of note?

nothing but Hayte : Paulie Walnuts : 8/13/06 1:58 AM

A gathering of fountains of misinformation.

They mention two fumbles, but never mention they were snaps that he recovered.

The same thing with Romo's stats:

Passing: T. Romo 19/25 235 1 0 76% comp %, 117.9 QB rating - with 1st-3rd string WRs/TEs/RBs

Rushing: T. Romo 5 18 0 9 - with 1st-3rd string players

Fumbles: T. Romo 2 0 2 -4 - with three different centers

There was nothing to be concerned about : Chicken Teriyaki Boy : 8/13/06 11:18 AM from Romo's performance. He really wasn't as impressive as the stat line would indicate. The Cowboys o-line stinks. And they are very thin at WR. TO and Glenn did not play and Patrick Crayton was the only other half way decent option.
Here's another stellar comment from someone who doesn't know the hell what they're talking about. The o-line didn't allow a sack. We are thin at WR, but Glenn obviously DID play. Meanwhile, from what I could hear the radio Hurd had a fairly decent game despite that drop on the first play. He caught four balls.
