The Giants have some key injuries this week. Ballard is one player I have my eye on. He is a good safety valve for Eli, and both of them were blitz killers in week 14. No Ballard is good for Dallas. Practice status for this week is listed below. A lot of key players are dinged up.

Ballard, Jake TE Knee DNPDNP--
Bradshaw, AhmadRB Foot DNPDNP--
Herzlich, MarkLB Ankle DNPDNP--
Manningham, MarioWR Knee LPLP--
Nicks, HakeemWR Hamstring DNPDNP--
Umenyiora, OsiDE Ankle/Knee LPLP--

Nicks would be a huge loss for them. If he's out I'm pretty confident we win.

True, but I think Ballard is the bigger loss. Eli has been killing blitzes by passing the ball to him as a safety valve. I don't fear Manningham and Nicks as much as I do Victor Cruz.

I hope the team is preparing for them all, as I'm sure they will all play if at all able, even as decoys.

I thought I heard that Ballard was out for sure, but now am hearing he is a game-time decision?

I don't think Ballard will play. Bradshaw, Manningham and Nicks would play I think. How effective they'll be remains to be seen. Those are some critical injuries that no one in the media is talking about. The fact that some haven't practiced all week doesn't bode well for them.

I'd bet on this. The Giants have had injuries all year. Tuck looked great in the preseason, but until the Jet game he's been useless. Most guys have some dings at this time of year.

Ballard has hands of stone.

If the Cowboys are tough on thrid downs, this game belongs to them.:starspin

just wish the trend of backups looking like All PROS against us would end.

Yet those hands of stone have been money as of late. Ballard was the key to the Giants beating the Cowboys in week 14 when the game was on the line with 5 minutes left. Without him, I don't think they win that game.

It seems they always have players nicked up, even when they play us. And yet their players that are playing always seem to step up and in to kick our behinds. In the meantime we are saying how if so and so were playing we would have won. Lame, lame, lame. Their players being hurt or nicked up means nothing because our players still won't capitalize on it. Newman will give whoever is not Hicks a ten yard cushion for every first down before finally giving up a 50 yard touchdown pass and the rest will fight hard for a quarter or two until someone on the Giants punches in them in the mouth. Then they will play to not make them mad again.

The gints wont have won the NE game also if Ballard hadn't caught a critical 3rd down absolute blinder :(

If he and Nicks are out , we can be more confident

I'm not really concerned about the Giants injury problem. Only concern is our guys being ready.

Honestly, the cushion doesn't bother me as much as seeing a wide receiver wide open in the middle of a soft zone. That seems to happen a lot with this defense, and I don't know if this is an issue with Ryan's scheme, or if it is a busted assignment.

Ballard is underrated IMO. He doesn't run as gracefully as an Antonio Gates, doesn't seem fast, but always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Not having him in the game would be huge IMO. Nicks, on the other hand, I don't think would be a huge loss. I think Cruz and Manningham could pick up the slack. Cruz wasn't much of a factor last time around, but I think he'll have to be this time if the Giants are to have a shot in this game. Especially if the other injuries sideline the players in question.

I agree, but I find it funny that no one in the media is making a point of these injuries. They got some critical players dinged up last week against the Jets. They needed the W, and it was a costly one, but no one in the media is focusing on their injuries...only on Romo's hand.
