Giants in a meltdown

They could have all-pros scattered across the roster, but Eli is so far gone that it wouldn't matter.

And the Giants brass have so much loyalty to Eli that they're willing to let him sink the ship

I am a bit perplexed by what they are doing.

If they were going to blow it up like they have and let Collins walk and trade OBJ, what sense did it make to take a TB last year in the Top 5? But they are still going with Manning?

It appears they don't quite know what to do in terms of where this team is going unless they are loading up on picks to move up and grab the QB they want.

Yeah that’s the biggest head scratcher. The fan base would rebel, but the smart move would be to trade Barkley for a 1st rounder to a contender. Somebody like KC.

That's the biggest non-move to me. They'll trade away anyone and everyone else, but somehow "can't quit" that guy? Coughlin and the Jaguars would have undoubtedly given them something for Manning last year, and if nothing else they could have cut him and saved themselves about $50 million in wasted cap space these past two years.

Did anyone actually think that they could be contenders by keeping him? If so, that's the first guy you fire.

They need a rebuild but are trying at least...if I were a Giants fan I’d be happy they are tearing it down. It shouldn’t take that long to build a roster in the NFL. Obviously they made some incredibly stupid moves the past few years, but not like they can take them back now...

They should really move on from Eli now. There is absolutely no reason to keep him and they'll save $5M if they designate him a June 1st cut. They wont do it, and I love them for it, though.

When you shoot for the moon and miss, this is what happens
Teams have to be honest with themselves and quit trying to be competitive
If you aren’t a few pieces away from a SB shot you are better off blowing it up
The skins are in a position they could rebuild that team over two years if they blew it up
They have a ton of picks now, would have again next year and could have a ton of money
They won’t do it because they aren’t honest at evaluating their roster
The worst thing a nfl team can be is average

They still have a few good weapons. Their offensive line is much improved, Barkley is a beast. Engram and Sterling aren’t bad options!

They aren’t great, but they aren’t 1-15 bad either

Letting Eli play is the smartest thing the Giants can do. No reason to put a QB in the game that takes away from their chances at the #1 pick in 2020. We should all be crossing our fingers that they actually do dump Eli

Their biggest mistake was one that I called out at the time. They got rid of Tom Coughlin and yet allowed Jerry Reese to spend recklessly to try to save himself. Reese put his own self interests ahead of what was best for the team and drove them into a ditch.

Let's hope they gamble on Kyler Murray next.

The guy is the opposite of a prototype NFL QB so the chance of him busting is sky high and that will set them back even longer.

They not getting him, he going to the cards. They are not giving up that first pick.

I'd love to see them take Drew Lock. Oh, please let it happen.
