Giants Training Camp Observations for 8/6 by mightygiants from a sports forum:

This practice was in shells. It was on the close field so there was a good view.

First the bad. Lavar was out. His knee was heavily wrapped. They didn't even let him ride the regular bike, rather they had him working on the upper body bike. He walked gingerly and with a limp. I could see he was even uncomfortable standing on the side lines watching the practice.

Undisciplined play or hurt. This is the reason I was glad we never really looked at him and why I thought the GIants tied up salary cap money with a bad choice.

Those 2 factors, along with a growing willingness to air his grievances to the press rather than behind closed doors, are precisely the reasons he's no longer a Commander. Man has (had?) among the most impressive physical skills in a LB I've seen in 35 years of watching pro ball ... damn shame he seems to have gottena bit short-changed in terms of the rest of the package---professionalism and durability. LA could have been truly one of the great ones.

I really hope this turns out to be a temporary injury, although I have a feeling this could really screw up his season, once again. If it is lasting, it's a shame, I really wanted to see what the Giant's defense would be like with LaVar lining up behind either Osi or Strahan.

If it were that serious, he would not have been out there.
