They legit beat Dallas. They had a heck of a pass rush with a nice deep rotation.
I would have to say we legit beat ourselves that game brah. The gaffes. The drops. The excessive penalties. We dominated that game in virtually every statistical category. But we failed to put it away when we had the chance. Let them hang around.

People forget Anthony fasano dropped a td pass right before the half. it hit him right in the chest.

I dont remember the drop but I do remember Marion Barber scoring with a minute left. If Fasano dropped the pass, the Cowboys still scored a td before the half ended.

And then Eli became Montana and helped the Giants scored a td to close the half.

Because we changed our entire identity that got us to that position. For one, we started Barber instead of Jones. And he wore down too quickly. And had nothing left for the final stretch. Also playcalling. We played very close to the vest and too conservative. That limited our possessions while the Giants were scoring much quicker. Don't forget when we went up 14-7 at the end of the 1st half and were going to be getting the ball to start the 3rd qtr, they went down the field to tie it in less than a minute.

But we were not healthy at the WR position. T Owens had to push himself to come back probably sooner than he needed and Glenn was hurt. We limped into those playoffs. Losing 2 of the last 3 games and looked pretty bad that entire December.

Giants defense was legit, too.
Offsides call on Ware on 3rd down after we stopped them. NFL admitted they were wrong. They score like two plays on a long td pass

did we just not take them Seriously?

How the heck did we not win that game? Just asking because we may see them again and I don't want a repeat

Multiple reasons. A BS Ware offsides led to a NY TD, Fasano's TD drop, Crayton's huge 4th quarter drop, Crayton pulling up on a clutch, game-winning deep pass late in the game, an incorrect grounding call on Romo killed a drive when we were in their territory in the 4th. A whole bunch of crap like that led to a close loss. Dallas was the better team and swept NY for a reason that regular season. TO being hobbled didn't help either.

Strahan said that we were the best team that they faced that season, including the cheating Patriots. We were led by the softest, most enabling HC that this team has ever had. The team had a false sense of entitlement and was unprepared for playoff football. Seems like this current team plays in a playoff game almost every week.

I think the Crayton drop was actually in the 3rd quarter. But the quarter was about to end. Would have made the score 24-14 and that probably would have me been game. Dallas defense except for one drive was more successful against the Giants O in the 2nd half than the first.

Clayton dropping a third down pass on a slant that would have iced the game, and stopping short in the end zone cost us momentum. Beyond that their insane D-line destroyed our Oline, I was very disappointed in them. Romo was running for his life by the 4th quarter

Crayton talked Alot of trash before that game, he screwed up big time on 2 key plays. That slant makes me so angry , I remember just losing it after that. WIDE OPEN

I still remember some phantom defensive penalties being an issue. I think the announcers even said something in regards to it

Their defensive line outclassed our offensive line in the 2nd half. We won't see that this year.

Wade Phillips telling the entire team, that getting a first round playoff bye was like winning a playoff game. No wonder he never won a playoff game.

Great DC lousy HC.

1. Dropped passes
2. Romo still had a hurt finger on his throwing hand, if I remember correctly
3. TO was injured
4. Giants got hot at the right time, had a dominant defense

That's really it. We started to slow down late in the season, it didn't start in the playoffs.

Yup... and don't forget "Cabo-Gate"

Good team but they couldn't overcome set backs. When things fell apart they didn't have an answer. They went away from the formula that gave them home field advantage and they started to believe their own hype. Remember we were supposed to roll the Giants and host GB in the championship game.

Well, the Giants DID go on to win the Super Bowl.
Just so happens dallas faced them earlier than all the others teams that lost to them.

Their defense went on a tear--even shut down the highest scoring team in NFL history--the undefeated Pats--in the Tittle game.
Dallas actually scored more on them than the Patriots did.
One break here or there and Dallas wins.

Still, Dallas was fading down the stretch of the season and lost 2 of 3.
It's why Wade asked them to get away from the facility for the bye week and come back fresh for a full week of practice.
It's extremely hard to beat a good team three times in one season.
Plus, as luck would have it, our Pro Bowl receiver was hurt. TO was a relative non-factor due to injury.

Fasano dropped a TD pass.
Clayton stopped on his route, ball went over his head.
TO dropped a critical 3rd down conversion.
Defense layed an egg.
