I don't know if they think DeVito is better, maybe just equal ... and if they are equal might as well play the local guy who can fire up the fan base some.
They have to think he’s better to name him the starter, provided he’s healthy on Thursday. Daboll’s job is on the line. You may have forgotten but DeVito didn’t look that bad in the 6 starts he had last season. He was 3-3 with 8 TDs. There was a DeVito lovefest going on in NY for a short time.

I think it is still there. I don't think they have to think he's better, just not worse. Tie goes to the the local kid because he'll keep butts in seats ... at least for a short time.

Daboll has to think DeVito gives them the best chance of winning. Like I said he’s started six games for the Giants and won three. Drew Lock hasn’t started a game for them.

I don't agree. He could think both players give them about the same chance of winning. I don't think either QB is being looked at as any kind of star. But it's not worth the debate.

He’s seen them both in practice and he’s won some games with DeVito who’s played very well at times. We’ll just agree to disagree because it’s not worth going any further.

I think they were tanking when they put DeVito in. They want that top pick for a qb.
Playing either player would likely be looked at as tanking. Benching Jones and then cutting him showed they were naturally tanking ... in that they don't want to put anyone out there they think has a real shot at winning.

The difference between us and them is we think we have a real shot, which we do in this game even though the playoffs are more of a dream that reality.

Do you think the Commanders can recover and hold on? Who is going to play running back for them?

It's not looking like it with three straight losses, but that doesn't make us any less of a long shot. We're playing our backup QB while teams like the Bucs aren't.

Things can change in a couple of weeks.

For us? Not much can change until there's maybe a game or two left. We win this week, it means nothing as far as the playoff pic goes. If we win the next week, it means little as far as the playoff pic goes. We have seven losses, so one probably puts on the outside looking in and two certainly would. For that matter, we might could win them all and still not make the playoffs. Eleven teams have fewer losses than we do.

I know your an optimist, but there's no reason to get our hopes up. We beat a Washington team that had lost two games in a row and we stand a decent chance of beating a New York team this week that is playing for the top pick.

If they won them all, they would make the playoffs. If they lose the Philly game and win the rest, they probably catch Washington and make the playoffs. I really don't care which way it goes. I do like winning and I do like moving up in the draft. So it's a win win for me either way.

I have a feeling since we have a two game lead on them they will try to win Thursday. Nothing would feel better for them then to come to Dallas and knock us out of the playoff hunt.
That is the thing about division games, typically you dont just lay down and let a division rival plow you over.................there is some level of pride that kicks in...........examples.....

Dallas upsets the Commanders to keep them from winning a division title (most likely).

The Texans lose at home to the sorry arse Titans as Stroud looks like a practice squad QB and Levis looks like prime A-rod.

The Giants lay down faster than a $2 hooker to the Bucs, but actually are trying to win on Thanksgiving against Dallas.

Jones had an injury clause in his contract that guaranteed him $23 million in 2025 if seriously hurt...................Obviously, Jones aint gonna be on the team in 2025 so the Giants cut him now.

They didnt want to risk Jones getting hurt and being left on the hook for $23 million when he is not in their future plans.
