Giants | Safeties will not apologize to Shockey

The Associated Press reports New York Giants FS Will Demps and SS Gibril Wilson will not apologize to TE Jeremy Shockey (concussion) after giving him a mild concussion during practice Monday, July 31. Demps downplayed the collision, saying both he and SHockey were going for the ball when Demps elbow hit Shockey's facemask and knocked him hard to the ground. Demps said he tried to ask Shockey how he was immediately after the play was over, but Shockey seemed to ignore him. When the evening practice ended two plays later, Shockey threw his helmet in disgust. Demps feels there is no need to apologize and said, "We were both going for a play. It is what it is. It's a mild concussion. It's football." Wilson said Shockey might be a little miffed because the defensive backs did a good job of keeping the ball away from him during both practices Monday. Wilson added, "Will made a great play and Shockey didn't appreciate it. He did not like it at all. But it is what it is."

Let's see what does this make the running total of apologies that Shockey is owed this training camp?

Coughlin can be an arse sometimes so there's one, Eli's not getting him the ball which pisses him off there's another, and now the DB's are playing to good a defense on him, Jesus Shockey the whole world's against you.

I guess he won't be happy until he bends over and the entire world gives his hyper-sensitive backside a big 'ole smooch.

It's football, those things happen...as long is his head is alright, even little concussions can leave you dizzy...!

And, maybe he's not as good as he thinks? The defense should never have to apologize to their teammates in training camp, the offense either, unless it was a cheap shot.

Anyway, I hope he's alright...injuries suck!

I saw a replay of Shockey on the Best Damn Sports show recently and this guy is a incident waiting to happen.

He was jittery and was really kind of ditsy in the interview.

Didn't come off as very smart at all.

I understand why Shockey did not impress in his pre-draft interviews now.

He can get frustrated very easily.

A baby-Huey type.

Is it possible his overindulgences during his partying are catching up with him? Will he ever learn? Some do, some don't. I would think those who learn to control themselves would have longer careers than those who don't and wear out early.

He goes all out in everything.

Off the field that is not a good thing.

Listening to him talk on that show reminded me of the comedian Chris Farley.

Not saying he was funny like Farley, but just a blathering energetic mess.

Ya get the impression that Shockey's act is getting old with alot of people, his own teammates included.
